carboplatin and Gemzar infusion 2 weeks on, 2 weeks off

I would appreciate hearing from anyone who is on this compound currently. My cancer has come out of remission and I’d like to hear what these drugs did for you. I do recall having a round of treatment with these in 2019, but I’m a little vague on remembering some of the side effects. I appreciate any feedback.

I had Carbo & Gem every three weeks in 2018. My hair thinned severely and I had to wear a scarf. It was as expected re symptoms. I got a lot more tired as it went on and was able for very little by dose 6. But I had lots of good days after the first few doses.

It’s great that you’re able to get Carbo. I got nearly three years of remission after it last time. I’d love to be able to have it now but I’ve become allergic.

thanks. I’m exhausted after one round of Carbo Gem! Tomorrow, I go for Gem only. Right now, everything is an effort and my appetite is nil

Maybe your bloods are low. They might give you Neulasta for that. I found that to be a great help with exhaustion. I hope you can manage to eat. It’s really hard, when you don’t feel like it but hopefully you’ll tempt yourself with something. That’ll give you energy too. Eat anything you fancy. It’s lucky that you’re able to take the Carbo. I hope the Gem goes okay for you today.
