Gemzar+ Oxaliplatine regimen

Hi Ladies, I've had 2 infusions of Gemzar+ Oxaliplatine (4-th line of treatment) and for the first time I've developped a huge adverse effects : hemotoxicity. One more of side effects is fever (38C) the next day after the IV. The first time I've ignored it, and fever went away within 24 hours, but the last time I was adviced to go to ER immediately. I've spend in the hospital 3 days for observation. The fever has gone down after 16 hours. My CRP is elevated (56), but no infection source has been found.

Has anyone experienced these symptoms after "Gemox" combo?

Hi. Sorry no one has responded. I think that combination using oxaliplatin is more rare and not as many people will have had it. It sounds like your team is on top of it. Maybe they will lower the dose? You could call Ovacom for advice. Xx

I've had already the dosage of Gemzar lowered (mainly because of severe hamatotoxicity after my first IV). Will have blood test done next Tuesday - will see the results.

I’ve only had Gemzar, but it makes me feel flu symptoms, night sweats, fever. Not fun but I take ibuprofen to feel better. ❤️🙏

Leniko. Thank you for y/reply. It seems that Gemzar could give flu-like symptoms, and I've experienced it (already twice). It reassures me that it is due to chemo not to infection.
