Today was also supposed to be my day 8 of
gemcitabine
only. I turned up for my chemo appointment this morning to be told I needed to take another blood test as my neutrophils were low at 1.1 and they like them to be 1.5.

Richter Transformation treatments
I just know that I had two cycles of mini-LEAM, one of IVE and two of
gemcitabine
/dextamethasone/cisplatin. Has anyone else got rid of it with any of these? My consultant said he had not come across anyone before who had been successful with these treatments for Richter ttransformation.

Any new drug treatments I can ask the doctor about? Running low on options
She has had the following treatments: Avastin/paclitaxel/carboplatin (i think that's what it was first line) Weekly taxol Cisplatin/etoposide (she got 6 months from this) She is now on weekly
Gemcitabine
The doctor said we are running lower on options now and it is quite aggressive that it becomes resistant

Here we go again
Well I know i havent posted for a while Dad was diagnosed with inoperable lung cancer last year he had his first lot of Chemo carboplatin and
gemcitabine

Foods/Supplements-Vitamins: Folate
Folate, vitamin B9, is found in leafy green vegetables, as the name suggests, although there are other food sources too. However, a significant percentage of the U.S. population was deemed to be deficient by the FDA, which intervened & mandated that grains be fortified with folic acid, effective 1/1

GEMOX it will be...
As weekly Taxol caused tinnitus, they had a hard time trying to find out something that wouldn't worsen the symptoms, so GEMOX it will be:
Gemcitabine
and oxaliplatin, every two weeks (around 6 hours). It will apparently come with nausea, fatigue and sensitivity to cold.

first recurrence - experiences?
I sort of expected this, and I know that this means she will probably have to have Caelyx, Taxol or
gemcitabine
. I guess I'm just on here because I want to hear that it's not unusual for recurrence to be so fast, and I also want to know how effective the second line of treatment can be.

Gemcitabine (Gemzar)
Hi Just an update on this chemo, it has not been nice and I have felt sick, headaches, tired and pains all over abdomen and stomach. Had it a week last Wednesday and supposed to have another dose last Wednesday but had another urine infection so they told me not to go, am having more next Thursday.

Machine learning algorithms could predict breast cancer treatment responses
Their machine learning tool managed to predict
gemcitabine
resistance and paclitaxel sensitivity with 84 per cent accuracy, paclitaxel resistance with 82 per cent accuracy, and
gemcitabine
response (i.e. remission or not) with 62 to 71 per cent accuracy.
