Gemcitabine and Avastin (no Carbo)
For my mom's second recurrence, the doctor suggested
Gemcitabine
and Avastin without Carbo, as she got kidney issues and potential liver mets with the last regimen with Carbo+Caelyx. Has anyone used Gem and Avastin without Carbo? Was it effective? Did you have any side effects?

Chemo in Tablet Form
I have gone through all the various chemo treatments available (pacitaxol, carboplatin, Caelyx,
Gemcitabine
, Niraparib and a trial. I was hoping to go on another trial but due to plural effusion, collapsed lung etc unfortunately I cannot now do this.

Update on swollen legs/feet
He felt the swelling was due to
Gemcitabine
. Apparently it is a common side effect!Only trouble now is my platelets are only 35, so not sure if chemo can go ahead next week. Having a further blood test on Tuesday.

Have you been on Gemcitabine (Gemzar)?
Hello, I am starting
Gemcitabine
tomorrow and am wondering if anyone has advice on this chemo? Is it well tolerated? A nurse told me today I should get a port, my Oncologist said I should be fine without one.

Epigenetic therapy (decitabine) shows promise for endocrine-resistant breast cancer
Using a low dose of the epigenetic therapy drug decitabine, which is currently used to treat some blood cancers, the researchers significantly suppressed the growth of endocrine resistant breast tumours in mice and increased survival time by 90%. The finding, which will be tested in a future Phase I

How prostate cancer transforms into aggressive NEPC following treatment with anti-androgen therapy.
This could be a game changer as it could stop PCa from progressing. Science is going to save us. Clear cell reoccurrence 6-don't think I'll ever be out of the woods :(
However, it has been recommended to me I have 6 cycles of
Gemcitabine
and Cisplatin because I still have evidence of disease in various places. It wasn't the news I wanted to hear but if I'm honest knew it was coming. Ladies, do any of you have experience of this regime for CCOC reoccurrence?

Stage 3c Ovarian Cancer initial chemo didn’t work
The Oncologist has basically said that’s it , nothing else they can give her aside from chemo treatment Cisplatin &
Gemcitabine
but they’re not confident she’s fit enough. The other option is palliative care and she’ll have 2-3months left. Has anyone had similar experience?

antibiotics while on chemo?
I am on cisplatin and
Gemcitabine
(Gemzar) and have developed an infection near an ancient root canal that I believe has finally failed. Has anyone safely taken a basic antibiotic such as amoxicillin while on this chemo combo?

looking for positive stories….
My chemo ( 3rd line carbo then cisplatin and
Gemcitabine
) has been stopped after 3 treatments due to toxicity. I was really unwell on it . Ct shows tumour reduction in all abdo/ pelvic areas. Ca 125 has come down from over 1000 to 420. So not disease free and not NED.

Quality of life?
Hi ladies, I have been on Carboplatin /
Gemcitabine
for first recurrence & then on
Gemcitabine
on its own for a year which was been used as maintenance. This has worked very well for me as, remaining nodes after my last op have decreased & my oncologist is very pleased with my recent Ct scan.
