Hi fellow warriors I haven't posted for a while but am on here daily getting my fix of courage & love. I'm currently being treated for my third recurrence. I've been on Carbo/Gem + Avastin since March. A few delays to treatment due to flu, covid, low neutrophils & low platelets. Just recently I had

hi , has anyone had the combination of Carboplatin and gemcitabine . This may be my next course of treatment with Carboplatin plus gemcitabine one week, then gemcitabine only the second week with the 3rd week off. Gemcitabine seems to have some nasty side effects!!!

My wife was diagnosed with OC in 2020 She's currently undergoing chemotherapy Carboplatin and Gemcitabine for a reoccurrence that has progressed to her supraclavicular lymph nodes and at the porta hepatis .

Due to start Gemcitabine in June for 2nd recurrence since surgery. Finished 7 months of caylex/ carbo in November. Really enjoying past 5 months of no treatment ( first time with no treatment in 3yrs). Not feeling ready to start again!

Does the second dose of gemcitabine on day 8 mean that side effects (particularly sickness, diarrhoea or constipation and being prone to infection) are more spread out across the 3 weekly cycle?

I’ve received my first cycle of treatment on the trial but had a reaction to the Caelyx so will be switching to Gemcitabine/Carbo/Avastin. I am so fortunate and thankful. Please don’t assume that your care team will know or offer you all possible options.

Then had Carboplatin only, and then they added Gemcitabine. I had a huge reaction to this and ended up in hospital for a week. I also had Cellulitis. In my leg and then three weeks later I was in hospital again with Sepsis.

I was having 3 weekly cycles of Gemcitabine plus Cisplatin . I missed the 3rd cycle because of the pleural effusion . I will re start next week and hope that it will reduce my Ca125 . I hope all that made sense . I’m in the UK , so Elahere isn’t an option as a next treatment yet .

Would really appreciate hearing from anyone who's had liver mets, and also any tips or advice for cisplatin gemcitabine v welcome! G xxxxx

For my mom's second recurrence, the doctor suggested Gemcitabine and Avastin without Carbo, as she got kidney issues and potential liver mets with the last regimen with Carbo+Caelyx. Has anyone used Gem and Avastin without Carbo? Was it effective? Did you have any side effects?

I have gone through all the various chemo treatments available (pacitaxol, carboplatin, Caelyx, Gemcitabine, Niraparib and a trial. I was hoping to go on another trial but due to plural effusion, collapsed lung etc unfortunately I cannot now do this.

It’s been mentioned they may slow carb infusion over Two hour period or split doses ie gemcitabine one day and then carbo another day? Anyone experienced this! Thank you all

looks like the cancer is back! Im having a fluid drain in 15 sept and my cancer nurse is trying to bring my sppointment with oncologist firward.. gemcetabine has been mentioned. Anyone has existence of this drug, what sue effects if any did u experience.. this will be second recurrence .

He felt the swelling was due to Gemcitabine. Apparently it is a common side effect!Only trouble now is my platelets are only 35, so not sure if chemo can go ahead next week. Having a further blood test on Tuesday.

Just had Carbo/gemcitabine but it made me so ill. Now I’m just waiting to see what happens. No food or drink. Any hints you brave ladies?
