I had a gastroscopy 3 weeks and 5 days ago. (yes - i'm counting!) Still not got the results. I called the hospital and they said a letter had been dictated.....but two days later, still nothing.
Is this time lapse common?

Hi Natalianatalia.
I had my results/follow up Gastro appointment in about two weeks after my endoscopy. However each hospital is different.
Good luck!
had mine right away but they all diffrent good luck x
Had mine early December; results late in January - Christmas blamed!!
In my opinion you should not have to wait more than a couple of weeks - I have to wait what seemed like an eternity for scan results and it was agonising. I would call the hospital again....and again until you get your results, I once waited over two weeks for some blood tests results and when I finally called the hospital I was told that my file had been archived as if it was not an ongoing case! If there is one thing I have discovered since my CD diagnosis, just over two years ago now, is that the NHS is a DIY service and you have to complain and hound people every step of the way to get anything done - I hate that I have to complain and it shouldn't be this way but sadly it seems that it is. I hope you get your results soon
Thanks for your replies. They help to put things into context.
The hospital gave me a report of the visual results before I left the ward which was great, but makes the wait feel even longer.
The hospital won't tell me what's in the letter....just that it's on its way to my GP. I asked them to send me a copy, so hopefully not long now. (Assuming I can understand the letter!)
The hospital sent a letter to my GP but refused to send me a copy - told me to contact the surgery so I had to waste everyone's time making an appointment, just to confirm what we already knew.
I was told straight away by the Dr doing the endoscopy that he highly suspected coeliacs due to the state of my villi, but he sent a report to my GP within about 2 weeks if I remember rightly.. Chase it up I think,...Good luck..
When I had my endoscopy, I had the result in two weeks (positive). I would chase it up if i was you, as they normally don't take that long. Good luck
I had to chase mine up and finally after two visits to the doctor I had to request they fax the results.... Then I had a very abrupt doctor tell me yes you are coeliac and here's a copy of the lab result ...marsh 3b! So glad I had went gluten free immediately after endoscopy and didn't wait.
