BIG thank you too all those who replied to my posts on my apprehension about gastroscopy and stress echo
Really pleased to say I didn't exactly sail through both procedures but they were very tolerable. With the gastroscopy, as a laryngectomee, I decided not to have any sedation or spray which was in agreement with the consultant. I cannot praise the consultant and her endoscopy team enough. And lots of

Folate deficiency at 24 years old?
Hi. For the past two years I have been with a heamotologist because of my folic acid and b12 deficiency. I have had a gastroscopy and colonoscopy recently and all normal and negative for celiac disease. I don’t know what is causing this. I eat healthily. I keep having to have tablets and injections

Has anyone had a gastroscopy whilst on Rivaroxaban?
Hello everyone: Been told to come for a gastroscopy on Sunday related to my acid reflex problems. Unfortunately have received two conflicting instructions from Gastro department: Don't take Rivaroxiban for 24 hrs beforehand; Also been told to keep on taking Rivaroxiban and if a biopsy is needed I will

Phlegm when eating
Hi Just wondering if anyone has advice. I had total gastrectomy in January due to cancer. Things have been ok since, able to eat little and often. However the past few days I feel like I’m having spasms in my oesophagus/throat, it happens at random times and is a little worse when eating. Within minutes

Total Gastrectomy check up.
Yesterday I attended an appointment at the hospital some four hours journey from home with the surgeon that performed a Total Gastrectomy on me a little over nine years ago. The appointment was at his request and I had not seen him over the pat fours years. Now he wishes to see me on a yearly basis.

Surgery one done
My husband had his gastrectomy last Thursday and came home yesterday, I’m so proud of him for how well he’s doing. My mastectomy is scheduled for next Thursday and I’m getting nervous about the surgery and leaving the family with my husband still recuperating, but can’t wait for us both to be cancer

GERD and nausea
Hi! I am a 44 years old female. I have had severe heartburn for the last 4 months and occasional nausea, that I attributed to GERD. I underwent gastroscopy that showed mild gastritis and esophagitis. I also have Candida in my bowel. I took esomeprazole for GERD at first, but it caused me psychological

Nexium/Acid questions
Hi, so, After a large meal last week I developed hiccups for about 7 hours! ( rarely get hiccups but when I do they can last awhile, not that long though) Since then I had dreadful heartburn and a sicky feeling in my mouth for three days straight. Nothing relieved by over the counter medicines like gaviscon

Interesting question
I had an gastroscopy and colonoscopy in the April just gone. I was taking esomeperazole all the way up to when I had the procedure. I have read that you are meant to stop them a while before. But I wasn’t told about it. And now I’m worried I’ve masked something they could have found? Anyone else been
