ICU survivor 7 months later
Hi, Just to introduce myself to this fabulous group, I am a survivor of ICU from January this year. I attended an outpatient appointment expecting to have dressings applied to my foot and possibly having a cast within 24 hours I was on the operating table having a life-saving operation. Covid vaccines and Lupus Flare - up
Everytime I get a Covid shot I get a painful Lupus Flare- up for 4 to 5 months . In the 30 years of having Lupus I have never been so sick as since I have been taking Covid shots . I am thinking I will wait at least 1 year , if not longer for another one .

Vaccines – at what point do they become a disbenefit?
I need to state out front that I’m not anti vaccination, I believe in the benefits having had several as a kid and now 6 anti COVID doses. But I’m now being bombarded with NHS offers of several different vaccines, COVID, Flu and shingles among them, and it has made me think of possible issues before

Covid and flu vaccination ?
Tomorrow I am due for both a covid and flu vaccination. I received a letter from the health authorities and I was offered both as I have the relevant health issues. This is the first time I fall in this category, even when taking pred. and being in the hospital for 5 days with asthma attack (covid) in

Does anyone else suffer from thrush in the mouth, due to taking antibiotics. I think l may have it as my tongue is coated in white and l have lost a lot of my sense of taste. I have just started taking colomycin in Nebuliser for pseudomonas infection.

Restarting RA meds after having Covid

I am just questioning if it's too soon. I have a lot of catarrh it is clear, no infection. I am also extremely tired, getting

Covid - Beware Getting Treatment - Don’t Test Positive on a Friday - Some Answers
Well I said I would update you all regarding the ordeal I had had regarding my previous posts on this subject. Don’t want to bore you all but some may be interested in what I have managed to find out. I laid out to the NHS what I needed answers to and what they were doing about it to prevent it happening

Effect of Covid on Platelets
I’ve had thrombocythaemia for many years and it’s been well controlled initially by Hydroxycarbamide and in more recent years by Hydroxycarbamide and Anagrelide together. At the beginning of September I developed covid and tested positive over a period of twenty days. Early in October during a face

MtX or am I just unlucky?
I have been on 20 mg MtX for now 3 weeks, titrating up over 3 months. I just recvered from an UTI that has needed 2 rounds of antibiotics (hope to be clear now) and 3 weeks of a milder cold virus! Then for 2-3 days I was well and then again down with a severe cold, lasting now 2 weeks and it is progressing

PMR & COVID Vaccine Link?
In another thread which I began on a different subject, the possibility of a link between PMR and COVID vaccine came up. In that thread, for the first time I saw something other than idle speculation that the vaccine and PMR might be l inked: A study published[u] in the journal Rheumatology

blood test whilst with a cold?
due for a blood test later today, which I would normally have before my Rheumy visit (scheduled for next week) Come down with a blooming cold, started a few days ago - I’ve been reasonably lucky to have by passed most doing the rounds of our office 😬 - just done a COVID test to make sure and it’s come

My GCA Update
I just got done with my MRIs and MRAs, so we’ll see if results show much. My blood test came back with sed rate normal (always has been) and C-reactive prrotein headed down. It went from normal in PMR, to 1.3 and then 2.0 in GCA. Now at 0.8, so barely high and heading in the right direction. Still feeling

Does RA exist in the hips?
I've had fibromyalgia for around 20 years so am familiar with the symptoms. RA was diagnosed 4 years ago and I am now on Sarilumab jabs. I had a terrible flare around 4 weeks ago and couldn't get through to Rheumatology by any means. The pain in my hips was like fire and I had no real sleep for 2

My Stem Cell Journey so far.
Hi everyone just thought I’d share my experience of STC with you. I began the prep treatment over a week ago which consisted of a concoction of IV and oral meds. The day before transplant I had Total Body Irradiation - on the 31st I received “the gift” of stem cells from an anonymous donor 🙏. Im sorry

Covid vaccine
I've been offered a covid jab as I work with vulnerable people but I'm currently experiencing a real flare up of my asthma. Has anyone else had this situation and gone ahead with the jab? Did it make it worse? I'm thinking to postpone the vaccination.

GCA-Lyme Disease Connection?
Hi all, My wife is a long-time Lyme Disease sufferer, and has recently had a consultation with a biologist/pathologist. This person takes a blood sample and then looks at it under the microscope while the patient is present -- and then comments on what has been seen. My wife had the classic signs
