Constant dull ache on left side of chest... will glycerin spray help?
Hi All, First time post here. I had bypass surgery (x5) a few years back and have had regular pain in my chest since. The doctor at the time said that it was probably caused by smaller blocked arteries that hadn’t been bypassed. Does the spray work for these dull pains? I’ve been reluctant to use it

Severe lung infection following Coronary Heart Bypass Surgery (CABG)
My father had a triple heart bypass surgery. Following the operation, he came into the CCU and was woken up the next day. He was fine for 2 and half days, talking, being aware and was even getting to the point of drinking and eating. However on the 3rd day following the operation, he started to struggle

Think carefully...
I had my
gastric
bypass
done on the NHS and I so wish I hadn’t. I hope the psychological support is better now, but it was almost none existent when I had mine, and the dieticians advice was scarily poor too. Personally, I was sold the “quick fix, answer to all your problems “ idea. It isn’t.

Propranolol
Hi guys I have been on propranolol for a year now. I was put on it for anxiety and fast heart rate. I was put on it because my mum had died suddenly and then my dad had a heart attack and needed a triple heart bypass. It was a scary time. I was on 120mg a day but I have cut it down to 80mg now a day.

If You Want to Know Your Risk of Cardiovascular Disease (CVD) Stop Focusing on LDL-C, Instead Focus on Apo B & Apo A1 - the ApoB/ApoA1 Ratio
"LDL-C has been the primary focus in lipid-lowering trials for more than two decades. A vast number of studies, both in primary and secondary prevention, have shown that there is a close relationship between LDL-C and CV event rates, the lower the LDL-C, the lower is the risk [163-165]. Waiting time for CABG
Hi. For anyone here who has had CABG surgery at the Royal Brompton, roughly how long following your pre-assessment appointments did you have to wait for your surgery? I know these things vary but it would be useful (reassuring) to get a vague idea how much longer I may have to wait for surgery? Thanks

Yay asking for a referral from my Gp worked.
So although I have an appointment at my local hospital next month, I asked my Gp to refer me to Brighton as the surgeon there did my previous bypass surgery. Although my Gp was reluctant and I had to chase up that he had referred me I had a letter yesterday with an appointment next week. I also had a

Struggling
I went over for a week whilst he had a
gastric
bypass
due to a blockage and when I left he was eating and recovering well, then two days later his heart has started playing up and now he is in ICU. I also am full time carer to my daughters whom both have complex medical histories.

APPROPRIATE EXERCISE?
Having been through the system after a heart attack and bypass surgery, I found the rehabilitation exercises to be a "One fits all" experience. However as has been said on here many times before, we are all different and of all ages and abilities and therefore to ask an older person with perhaps arthritis
