How difficult is it to diagnose Adenomyosis?
Hello, I hope you are all well and surviving the heatwave! Long story, but for 6+ years I have been experiencing worsening gynaecological pain. This started during ovulation and was a fullness within the pelvis and sharp pains within the rectum and to the lower right of my back/abdomen. Gynae referred

Mouth Pain
I haven't been diagnosed yet , I have an appointment with a new Rheumatologist in week mine retired. I had blisters and horrible pain in my mouth ( started 3 years ago ) we had the blisters biopsied and came back as Lupus so we assumed all the pain in my mouth was lupus. No more blisters but the pain

Overmedicated with suppressed TSH - but low T4/T3 results and on T4/T3 medication
Unfortunately I've become the latest victim to a GP and an Endocrinologist beholden to the TSH test. I've been on 100mcg Levothyroxine (from NHS GP) and 25mcg Tiromel (sourced privately) for a good 6 months now and I've been doing my own private blood tests to check levels along with taking note of

Good morning everyone. I have a general enquiry, i am at the moment waiting for my CABG procedure, it should be in the next couple of weeks. Hello! Frustrated newbie here. Feel like i'm going crazy!
Hello all! I have been under the Endometriosis team for around 5 years now after getting mid cycle rectal pain which has progressed. MRI showed some indeterminate ?endo lesions behind the cervix and scarring on the ovary. I have had the Mirena coil which seemed to help for a short while, but the pain

Do I need to be checked out
Hi I had an AF episode a week ago and then went into fast Sinus with a heart beat of 140. 6 days later I went into Kings for a routine endoscopy for my 3 yearly verecies check for my liver cirrhosis. My heart was still tackicardic. First they could not get the camera down my throat due to severe swallowing

Possible GCA.
I had cataracts surgery March 15 the left eye, March 29th right eye. Within a few days of the second surgery my headaches started. Never prone to any headaches. I have PMR. Started on prednisolone 15mls. 45mg. about a year ago. High dose because of gastric bypass. Only got relief at high dose.

Anyone experience Bile as a caustic?
I’ve been fighting for answers for 4 1/2 years. Nothing really makes sense. For some reason I have copious amounts of bile. An endoscopy in late 2017 found severe reactive gastropathy. I ended the turmeric supplement. It was believe that the PPI and turmeric supplement created a toxic reaction. Now

PPI’s and self injecting
Is anyone here taking PPI’s long term, and if so at what frequency do you SI? I’m a gastric bypass patient so my PA is man made not autoimmune and I take omeprazole daily. I’ve been SI for a month now and although the results have been amazing, I’m not where I want to be and wonder if I need to continue

Searching for B12
Hi All, Newbie here, joined the forum to try new source B12 ampules. I’m a gastric bypass patient, 13 years post surgery and have never had B12 therapy despite this being in the post surgery guidelines. I’ve had an eventful post surgery experience which included a further bowel resection in 2017. My

Iron? Cause for concern?
Aug 14, 2014 I had Gastric Bypass Surgery. At that time I was told by my Surgeon I had a Fatty Liver. I was told that the Gastric Bypass should help to stop the fatty liver an might even allow it to heal. Then I was prescribed a Vitamin plan by my Gastric Bypass Surgeon. I was told this is because of

Weight Gain on levothyroxine after 18 months

Please any advice
Hi all, I had a full hysterectomy on Sept 2019 due to re occurring endometriosis and ovarian cysts. I had many key hole surgeries to remove both. The last key hole before my hysterectomy was performed by a lady doctor who I specifically had said I didn't want her to touch me as she had told me she wasn't

Bowel prep for colonoscopy - long post. Sorry.
Hi. I thought I would kick off with the dreaded bowel preparation (clearing) required prior to having bowel examinations or surgery. There are a number of products (some branding names vary between USA and UK). So, this is my journey this year: Needed a colonoscooy as well as Upper GI Endoscopy so appointment

Hanging on one day at a time
The last few months have been such a roller coaster! In the past month alone my husband has had surgery for a kidney stone and a few days ago he had a gastric bypass. Soon he will need to have surgery to replace a disc in his neck. His spinal cord is compressed and the longer he waits the more function

Too much iron
Hi all!! My hematologist hasn’t been able to get me in and I won’t see him till March 1st. I’ve been self injecting since I was diagnosed last year and was refused the amount of B 12 I needed because I always test too high and well, you know the rest. Between having all three MTHFR’s and being a gastric
