Anyone experience Bile as a caustic?

I’ve been fighting for answers for 4 1/2 years. Nothing really makes sense. For some reason I have copious amounts of bile. An endoscopy in late 2017 found severe reactive gastropathy. I ended the turmeric supplement. It was believe that the PPI and turmeric supplement created a toxic reaction. Now having Barrett’s esophagus, I’m prescribed a PPI for life. (The compromise was one a day as opposed to the normal dose of twice daily.) Rabeprazole ( Aciphex) Anyone know of it? It’s supposed to have a healing effect…

I’m not the smartest person, but I do suspect an overproduction of bile could cause liver damage. And I do believe the PPI creates an environment for more bile. The initial gastrologist told me that he normally sees bile reflux in gastric bypass patients. I’ve had no such thing. I did have my gallbladder removed about 20 years ago. (Never any stones, but a gallbladder that was no longer functioning. Sick and diseased, I was told.)

I was actually looking at PBC, as I have other autoimmune issues. ( RA + SICCA, but I believe Seronegative Sjogren’s.)

I’m trying to get in a Liver Study and a liver biopsy. I’m not looking for medical advice as much as someone experiencing something similar to join my journey.

Hugs!
