I'm new ... Horrible ibs-d flare up
I have taken psyillium husk\
fybogel
for at least 15 years but have noticed it doesn't seem to work for me as much as it used to, so I've stopped! I read an article recently where 3 women with IBS tried 3 different remedies so i am trying.

Fybogel for diarrhoea?
I have recently heard of using Psyllium husk/
Fybogel
as a useful bulking agent in IBS-D. Has anyone got any experience of this? I am currently suffering with D a lot but am reluctant to take what is commonly prescribed as a laxative without further information. THANKS

The gastrologist prescribed codeine &
fybogel
which took a few weeks to kick in but did firm things up a bit. Then week before Xmas had three days nearly normal. Good Xmas, eating well and drinking wine. Two days after Boxing Day started having 'accidents' again.

Do you need omeprazole when you have an hiatus hernia?
After all this I was prescribed
Fybogel
to regulate my bowels, Merbeverine for bowel spasms and a course of 2 antibiotics and Omeprazole 20 mg twice a day for 2 weeks for the ulcer & H.Pyorli. The Omeprazole was then reduced to 20mg daily for the Hiatus Hernia.

Have to wait 8 weeks for scan :(
She did a quick exam and asked a few questions and told me to buy some
fybogel
mebeverine for IBS and go back in 8 week for scan and to see her again!! Cries all the way home really thought I would get some answers. Anyway I've been taking the sachets twice a day and not had a poo yet!

Endo is a total waste of space
I have suggested taking
Fybogel
initially 2 sachets twice daily, increasing the dose until her bowel movements are satisfactory.

Excessive fatigue or is it normal?
I have regular blood tests, take iron with vitamin C, also a
fybogel
each night to ensure its not constipation. My question is, is this normal? Should I be able to work 40 hours plus a week plus run a home while on these meds or is it normal and am I generally over doing it?

The FODMaP diet
My doctor has given me many different types of medicine to try including
Fybogel
but to no avail so I am now trying out the FODMaP diet. I've haven't yet spoken to my doctor about it - is it best to do this under the supervision of a doctor or dietician?

Update on condition and clinic appointments
An update to this post: https://healthunlocked.com/theibsnetwork/posts/1177009/ibs-or-ibd-the-investigation-is-ongoing My GP decided to try me on
Fybogel
again and once again it resulted in hard stools and this then caused bleeding, most likely from fissues!

Hi my child had ibs since age 11 after having a really high temperature which cause the millions of lymph glands in the gut to inflame.
Then had to have
fybogel
to balance the gut back. Since then contracted noro virus. We tried aloe Vera with Apple juice, probiotic nothing works till we see a dietitian who gave a list of food to avoid when got flare up.

Suffering from constipation - has anybody tried Fybogel?
So I ended up being given
Fybogel
(for free which was a bonus!) I'm hoping it works but I thought I could take other medicines for constipation? I've taken two sachets so far and will try it for for a few day to see what happens, has anybody has success will it before?

Has anyone used Linaclotide (Constella) a new drug for IBS constipation.
I have been taking two sachets of
Fybogel
with Mebeverine a day plus four Sennokot but they are not really doing the trick. I have read about Linaclotide but don't think it is Nice approved. Here is the link to the information I found. http://www.ukmi.nhs.uk/applications/ndo/record_view_open.asp?

Hard topic and not the nicest.. Very sorry if you are eating your lunch! Constipation and piles :( making me severely upset!
My mum told me to try
fybogel
and it has been working well but it's still not making me regular.. I can not go for four to five days, possibly longer. I've improved my diet but it's an endless battle as need quite a bit of sugar if not I end up fainting.

Stage 4 and running out of options
I am taking
fybogel
and laxido but they are not helping. Has anyone else been in this situation? Did you press for the surgery? Has it improved? Sorry I don't post on here very often but really would appreciate your experiences as I don't really know where to turn. Thanking you all in advance x

Thoughts on Holland and Barrett Regucol versus Fybogel
Asked GP if could get it on prescription (on ESA and trying to save money) and got
Fybogel
. I have found that it doesn't work as well. So I have returned to Regucol. I am told it is the same soluble fibre/husk although different names - But my body doesn't seem to think so.
