Post-private GP update
Evening. A few people asked me to post an update following on from my visit to a private GP today. Well, it certainly wasn’t what I’d expected, which is to say I hadn’t expected much to happen other than another another blood test being needed and possibly a plan of action. What actually happened

Rapidly gaining weight.
I've gained a stone in weight all of a sudden, in just over a month with most of it while I've been on a calorie controlled diet the past two weeks and staying well below the calorie limit. Could any of this be down to my thyroid? My latest test results were tsh 2.11 ( 0.5 -4.4 ) and t4 12.1 ( 8.9 -

Cost of a full thyroid panel v TSH alone
We often hear of patients being refused a full thyroid panel due to cost. Can anyone tell me the cost differential to the NHS as I suspect it may be minimal.

Semaglutide not working
My daughter recently restarted oral Semaglutide after not being able to take it due to its unavailability. It really helped when she first started it with weight loss and improved readings. Her recent Hba1c has Increased considerably, however, along with weight gain. Does anyone have any idea why this

Weird test results
I tried to post my results the other day in the hope that one of our amazing Admins might be kind enough to give their opinion but the photo came out blurred for some reason. I take 3 grains of Armour which I’ve been doing since 2017 and up to now have been ok. However the last three to four months

Elderly mum exhausted, overweight, unmotivated, yellow tinge skin on sides of face
Hello, I'm really struggling trying to get the GP to sort my mum out. She's nearly 88yrs old and in the last few years has put on an excessive amount of weight, she was a size 12, now she is almost a 20! She is absolutely exhausted, just says she has no energy at all and barely gets dressed each day

confused but relieved
so today I went for a second opinion to another neurologist. My last grf was 48. It has been 36. He didn’t seem concerned. As he said people with stage three can live along time. My creative was 1.2 Which was not bad according to him. He found no blood in my urine. My blood pressure was fine. He

unknown rash
hi everyone! Last week I posted pictures of my son’s face rash asking if it looked like cutaneous lupus. For those who are just reading now, he had this rash for about two months now— started on his ear which was raw red then went away. A few weeks later the rash developed bright red spots on his face

Negative test results - Gutted
Hi, I'm new to this group but have found it very useful during the TWW. I've just undergone my first ICSI cycle and today did a pregnancy test. It was negative and despite trying to be prepared it's hit me hard. I'm 39 years old, turning 40 this year. Had an ecoptic pregnancy 2 years ago and after almost

Exhaustion may not be thyroid related!
Hi all, just wanted to share my recent experience which came as a complete shock/surprise. So, usual story, feeling exhausted, needing to nap all the time, barely able to function. This feeling has been even worse since new year, barely able to get out of bed. Now, I knew I was a poor converter and needed

MediAlert bracelet for private T3 anybody?
A post by Rapunzel mentioned someone who was left untreated with T3 in hospital as they were on a private prescription. It made me think on the idea of getting a MediAlert bracelet for the private T3 issue. I wondered if anyone does this already and am interested in opinions as to whether the hospitals

Technical question-is there a difference between making your own T3 or taking synthetic T3 physically?
Could you feel a difference between the 2? I wondered whether making your own might reach other places the synthetic stuff might not be able to reach? Or are they both exactly the same? Thanks.

Is it menopause ?
My story is complicated and confusing. I am 39 now but I think I am getting into menopause very soon.I have severe hot flushes for nearly a month and half now, they are so severe and frequent that I have to sit motionless in front of the AC or fan all the time, even going to the bathroom would trigger

WHEN YOUR SPUTUM TEST COMES BACK ‘CLEAR’
How many times have members (particularly those with bronchiectasis)written that they feel ill, have purulent sputum and lots of it and yet have been told that their sputum test has come back ‘clear’ and so have been left with no or insufficient antibiotic treatment to battle on, knowing full well that

Wait time for food and drink after thyroxine
hi I have just been diagnosed with hypothyroidism and will start taking thyroxine tomorrow morning. I usually wake at 6.30 and will take then. NHS and endocrinology guidance says wait half an hour before having any food and drink, but I notice this forum advises an hour. I’m not worried about eating
