Bone density loss with methotrexate?
I’ve had horrific spiral comminuted open
fractures
of my tibia and fibula following low impact missed my foot/fell to the ground that shouldn’t cause those injuries. I cannot get a dexa/bone density scan thanks to Covid.

Prostar trial over
After 5 and 1/2 months, I have a new lesion on my rib . Not a big surprise since my psa and alk phos has been on the rise. Done zytiga and now Xtandi in the Prostar trial. The trial will not be going to phase 3. At least It helped me for almost half a year

I am 87 years old with mobility problems the worst of which is a problem with walking due to various
fractures
in my back (which also prevents me bending down), a dodgy hip and a funny knee.

Xtandi to Zytiga
I just finished 3 years of treatment with Xtandi (enzalutamide) with my psa going from 6.80 (07/19/17) and dropping to a low of 0.23 (03/15/18) . My psa then began a steady climb to 3.19 (08/02/19) and continued to 9.32 (07/16/20. Prior to the Xtandi treatment my line of defense included the following

After a couple of weeks illness and calf trouble, consultation with a physio and more rest than i would of liked, i'm back and ready to go 😊. I said i wouldn't give up and I'm not. So run 1 week 1 done and it feels good, then back home to hose the dog down... Which he really didn't enjoy but loved

Voltarol or Voltaren
Some one ask about this a while ago. It seems they are both the same , with similar colour packets and both contain Diclofenac . Mystery solved so to speak or puzzle resolved for those who were confused.

My life is done...
I have several spinal
fractures
that have not healed and are unlikely to heal. I live with the pain daily and the only way to deal with the pain is to rely on opiates. I’m not prepared to keep upping the dosage. My bones are too weak for surgery. I’m 64 but feel 84. My life is over.

Vertebral fractures
So, I'm keen to understand what experiences other older people of my mum's age have had with these
fractures
and am grateful for any expedites you might share whether good or bad so that we might have some idea of what the future might hold.

Stress fracture
I’ve loved the c25k programme and have continued to run 3 Times a week since graduating. However I suffered a sharp unexplained pain in the fibula just above my ankle bone on the outside of my left leg halfway through a run. I couldn’t run for much longer and walked home. I assumed I’d got a sprain

Very Informative Podcast
https://m.soundcloud.com/prostate-oncology/off-label-treatment-used-for-prostate-cancer This podcast was done by Mark Scholz (my oncologist from Prostate Oncology Specialists). Very worthwhile information. He discusses off label uses. Some here oppose that but Scholz was using Taxotere long before

Success with SBRT
I was wondering have many had success with SBRT. I am supposed to start next week mets spreading in my pelvis with rising psa . Have been on Xtandi but did not work now on zytiga even though told chances it will work are slim. Radiologists feels this will help with pain and kill some of the cancer cells

UK news - Abiraterone
Abiraterone has also been found to halve the risk of serious complications such as bone
fractures
and spinal cord problems from cancer when compared with a combination of hormone therapy and docetaxel chemotherapy. The ICR’s researchers therefore argue that it is a much kinder option.

I have some lower back pain, probably from the compression
fractures
Iv'e had over last couple years. Some things have been done for it. Since I have let myself be in a rut lately, I am active but don't exercise on a regular basic at all. It is time for me to do that like now.

Ibrutinib and Tylenol with codeine
Beastly toothache for 4 days and extra strength Tylenol isn't doing a thing to cut the pain. Can I safely take Tylenol with codeine until I am able to get into a dentist?

I Can Do an Oil Change
My latest blog post, where I ponder the paradox of having a "can do" attitude while on disability leave. In other news, I completed chemo back in June, finished radiation in July, and continue on Atezolizumab, Lupron, Abiraterone, and Xgeva. I'm finally beginning to see glimpses of improving health

Castrate resistant
How long with being castrate resistant with Mets has Zytiga or Xtandi kept your cancer at bay? Our Oncologist said two yrs the most. Have any of you gone longer than that

AA or not?
I recently had a dexa scan and the results show I now have osteoporosis, after having osteopenia for some years. I have had pmrgca for five years and been taking predisolone reducing down now to 4mg pd. A few years ago I was prescribed alendronic acid, which I found difficult to take and also read that
