Good morning my Brothers, today I start my Provenge treatments . I don't think I have the same mindset from when I was first diagnosed with the Beast. We all go through the gambit of rollercoaster emotions, but I know it's a fight to the end. I am kind of looking forward to this treatment sounds crazy

"Minimizing Morbidity and Maximizing Outcomes w/ ADT by Laurence Klotz, MD Aug 2018"
Here is more discussion of Intermittent ADT and Firmagon vs Lupron others might find interesting. https://grandroundsinurology.com/minimizing-morbidity-and-maximizing-outcomes-with-adt/ I'll say on the front end it involves discussion of mouse studies which I know is controversial, but hopefully there

Shin splints
Hi, I hope I'm in the right place. Today I had to walk home from work as my car is in the garage. After about half a mile I started getting pain in both my shins which very quickly forced me to take a seat at a bus stop. I've done a little bit of researching online and it sounds a lot like shin splints

Rebounder safe exercise?

in my spine. Walking is good. What about gentle bouncing on a rebounder? Has anyone used this, or have any advice?

Two new advanced hormonal agents (apalutamide and enzalutamide) increase survival in metastatic hormone sensitive prostate cancer (mHSPC)
New indications for 2 previously approved drugs - Erleada and Xtandi. I don't have all the details yet on Xtandi, but it is clearly successful for mHSPC. I'll update after the ASCO meeting. Here's what I know so far: https://pcnrv.blogspot.com/2019/05/two-new-advanced-hormonal-agents.html

Would a Nagalase test help??
Is anyone familiar with the Nagalase test? Has anyone had a Nagalase test and would it be useful if you've had a orchiectomy and are still castrate sensitive with PSA <0.01 and T <1.0? A little sunshine for a dark few weeks
My husbands PSA has been going through the roof, in a lot of pain and just not well. He was just prescribed Xtandi. I was able to get his Xtandi for $0 copay with a $25,000/year limit. The only requirement was that we have commercial insurance and agree to receive email information. The disclaimer

Looking for advice
I have been slowly reducing my Rayos and doing pretty good. I am down to 12mg from 15mg from December. 2 nights ago I woke in incredible pain in my hip, knee and leg. I could hardly move. I increased my rayos to 14mg then to 15mg before I got any relief. Last night the same thing happened. Last night

After an x ray they found I had 2 x compound
fractures
too two vertebrae, which I go for a scan to see the cause of it. But I'm convinced that the statins are causing most if the aches and pains. Has anyone had similar issues? Cheers

Wrist fusion or Not ?
Hi, I have just recovered from a scaphoid fracture but due to some previous wrist injury my surgeon tells me that I will need a wrist fusion as there is no cartilage or ligaments left. At the moment I still have full movement of my wrist and some pain but can put up with it for the sake of my wrist

What's next after Xtandi fails?
Seeking other's ideas as I sense his 16 month run with Xtandi will be ending soon. His is PSA is fluttering. He hasn't had chemo yet but has lost so much weight that he seems too frail for chemo. Popping a pill is easier but the side effects of Xtandi have been brutal for him. At age 75 and almost

Azathioprine and CBD Oil
She has Osteoporosis and has had wedge
fractures
in her spine and has had a injection at her sacroiliac which did not help at all. I know the chemist is reluctant to even give her a cough medicine because of Azathioprine.

Week 8 Run 1 - Many lessons learned
Well as I feared, following my jubilant run on Thursday where I felt I could carry on for another 25 minutes, this run was an unmitigated disaster from the start. But rather than get deflated I’m going to learn. I did my brisk walk on my way to the start of my local parkrun, paused the app as I usually

Still undetectable 56 months after DX w/ original 209 PSA and bone mets..
Hi all; Great news today still showing a PSA of <0.02. I never ever thought that this would have been possible after my initial horrific DX let alone that I would still be alive. Still on the monthly injection of Firmagon (which I hate) and daily 50 mg of Casodex. I do have to admit that the side effects
