Alcohol Setback
Much improved over the last month on a lowered fibre and
Fodmap
diet. Complacent and in hope I supped a couple of cans of lager on friday and have suffered badly for the last two nights. I hadn't drunk a drop since Xmas for fear of triggering a flare up so back on the wagon.

low FODMAP and gluten free diet problems....
I was just put on a low
FODMAP
and gluten free diet by my gastro doc while I am being tested for everything under the sun and I have been on it for a couple of days now. Only thing is, I have had the VERY WORST headache and gas EVER!!! Is this something that is normal?

Can antibiotic for dental infection improve IBS symptoms?
I was wary of the sorbitol as I know it is a
FODMAP
and I have found it made the bloating worse in the past, however in conjunction with the antibiotic everything seemed quite a bit better.

Fermentable Potential Foods
He lists foods to avoid which are highly fermentable, FP = Fermentable Potential, including starches and suggests that his theory goes further than the
Fodmap
theory. Unfortunately the bit I could browse online did not include the list.

Wholemeal Bread.
For years I have baked my own wholemeal brown bread and along with porridge every morning and fibre from vegetables thought I was eating a suitable diet. 5 months ago following an IBS flare up I switched to 100% spelt flour and followed the
FODMAP
diet.

IBS symptoms worse since stopping anti-depressants
I have IBS A and I am strict with what I eat and stick to a low
FODMAP
diet. My diet hasn't changed, but I am finding i'm in pain at various points on a daily basis and I'm switching between C and D within a 24hr period. I'm also finding that generally I am feeling pain more.

FODMAP DIET
Having suffered IBS for several years with mixed settled periods and flare ups, the Low
Fodmap
Diet by Shepherd and Gibson makes total logical sense to me. Finding a specialist in NE England with
Fodmap
diet expertise is proving difficult.

I'm new! IBS&FODMAP Diet
I have been put on the
FODMAP
diet, which although its annoying to have to check the ingredients on everything you eat, I think it has helped. But I just find that everything I eat now is the same, very bland and repetitive. Does anyone else feel like this?

I have had abdominal pain now for two months. It's mostly right side and under the navel it is sore, but sometimes it is just sore all over
The most recent time I went to my GP (yesterday) she suggested the
FODMAP
diet, so I am going to see how I get on with that, but I was really hoping she would send me for more tests. Next week I have to carry on with my working life. I'm just going to have to take painkillers and hope for the best.

I have IBS-C, Does any one have similar symptoms? If so what products have you found to be beneficial.
After 20 yrs of this, and trying so many products, I have found the
FODMAP
diet the most beneficial. I am now also trying Symprove, ( 7th week) but as yet no improvement.

1 month into fodmap diet - update
Well I'm about a month in now and have to say the difference in my well being is unbelievable. I have had one or two episodes and thanks to my diary, can identify why. Can't pinpoint any specific food group as its been a case of needing to eat and resorting to junk food as there was no other option

FODMAPs android app
I am wondering, is the
FODMAP
app for androids worth buying? it costs £5.60, I don't want to buy it unless it's actually going to help. Have you used/use it? is it worth the money? should I get a book instead? all your advice is much appretiated

Was fearing the worst after going out for a meal.
I started a strict low
fodmap
diet 2 weeks ago and have really noticed a difference, Hence I was dreading today, especially since I'm working at a wedding from 4-12 tonight. I avoided pasta etc but there was little on the menu that wasn't a no no so I just opted for the best bet.
