any advice please.
I was just reading through my original reply from pip.i noticed they scored me 4 points for moving around.. On my latest reply, they have awarded me daily living activities 4 points, due to my peak flow. Plus 4 points for mobility. Which makes a score of 8 points, which is the minimum needed for pip isn't

Have you been offered an allergy test?
Having seen a few posts where people have said doctors have been reluctant to offer an allergy test, I'm wondering if this is a common problem? Personally I struggled with severe asthma my whole childhood - saw many nurses, GPs, consultants, etc., none suggested an allergy test and finally one consultant

Brand new to this, well, sort of - and need help to learn
My question is: when do I know I should take ventolin? This may sound odd, but perhaps less so with my story below. Now in my sixties I was diagnosed in the last couple of years. I had noticed myself wheezing intermittently and briefly, and then For a period found it hard to breathe out on excercise.

Worrying about new meds
Hi all. I'm a bit concerned as my practice nurse has put me onto new meds, which I read up on. I was taking RELVAR 92/22... Which was doing absolutely nothing for my breathing,I was struggling to just get from room to room...and my peak flow at my review was 164... I told the nurse of my inability to

Hi all I just been to see my lovely asthma nurse. I was put on flixotide after being on seretide for 3 mths following an asthma attack. I did ring asthma uk before I went to get things clear in my mind. They were brilliant as per usual and came to the same conclusion as my asthma nurse if not as long

Feel Like A Fraud
Dear All, Okay so here is my story. I was diagnosed as asthmatic as a young child (long family history of asthma, plus several bronchitis infections in first 2 years) and was on inhalers up until I was 19 when I stopped using them with advice from my GP as I was symptom free. I have remained pretty much

Unexplained breathlessness
Hi, I've got breathlessness exacerbation now, tried to phone hospital for a few weeks for respiratory clinic cancellations, there weren't any. It all started about 6 years ago after a cold, had chronic cough for 4 years and then it was replaced with breathlessness which I've had for 2 years or so

Confused and frustrated - Onset of Adult Asthma at 34
Hello I recently had some key hole surgery with anesthetic in February. Then in March I had the cold flu virus. The day I went back to work I had to be brought home as I couldn't breath my breathlessness only seemed to be brought on if I did more than sit on the sofa. Doctors gave me predisoline some

Chest infection/asthma flare-up lingering on
Hi, I'm new here, and struggling with a recent flare-up. I had asthma as a child/teenager, mainly triggered by cigarette smoke and colds, but seemed to 'grow out of it' after I left school. I've had very few issues as an adult and hadn't been on a preventer for years. But I started with a chest infection
