Back Trauma significantly worsening RLS - anyone else?
Running through some posts on this board, I followed a thread to this website: https://www.rlshelp.org/. Within it, there is a section where he writes, "There have been many anecdotal reports of patients developing RLS (or having very significant worsening of their pre-existing mild RLS) after surgery

Supplementation?
Hello all, I normally write on the thyroid site because I have Hashimotos, but today I am writing to the hearties among us regarding my husband. He has had two mini strokes in the past, one was called a TIA and the other was called a mini stroke. His first one was twenty years ago and the second one

Ferritin 52, hashimoto’s and post menopausal
My ferritin is 52 and I’ve just gone 12 months without a period. Also, I have hashimoto’s and a year ago my antibodies were >1000. Shouldn’t my ferritin be high as I assume I have inflammation because of hashimoto’s? A year ago my ferritin was 48, haemoglobin 134 and iron panel fine.

vitamin results
I’ve just received my vitamin results. My ferritin is 52, serum vitamin b12 level 462 ng/l, serum folate level 16.5 ng/l (range 3-20), vitamin D 90. A year ago my ferritin was 48, vitamin b12 331 and folate 12.3. I’m disappointed my ferritin has only gone up by 4. I tried cutting tea out near meal

Low Ferritin
Have tested low (below ref range) twice on Evenity, has anyone else had their ferritin tested whilst on a bone drug and seen low ferritin? I have read calcium can stop the absorbtion of iron which may be the reason, not sure. Thanks

B12 injections causing rebound effect?
Hi there, I'm wondering if any of you have experienced this... I've noticed over the years that (yep, YEARS!), after I get my monthly B12 injection (cyanocobalamin), I almost always go through 3 to 5 days of feeling incredibly tired (I could sleep 12 hours a day), having a sore throat, hoarseness, shortness

Wondering if iron dose age should vary depending on weight please?
Hi I usually take Ferrous fumerate to help with iron levels. I’m wondering if this should vary depending on weight please as when I was ordering Three Arrows which is on its way, it asks for weight to work out a daily dose. Mine came to needing between 20 and 40ish a day. I’ve been & until it arrives

anemia but digestive issues (diarrhea)/multivitamins
Good evening everyone, I´m writing on behalf of my sister who is lactating now on her second year and has been suffering from diarrhea for the last two months. She has always had a tendency to it, but it seems to be aggravated. She is taking iron(liposmated) with vit C(ascorbic acid) because she has

Saw Dr Klein at the Cambridge blood clinic.
So I finally saw Dr Klein, He says 100% I have pernicious anaemia and it’s quite bad. I have to inject ever other day for a year. Apparently my folate and ferritin is good. My vitamin D is also a tad low. My bladder issue could be to do with the Anaemia. Likewise it could be reversing out. He seemed

6 months after diagnosis, ALC going up?
Hi everyone, I was diagnosed with CLL in early Dec 2023. I am not fully asymptomatic as one of my underarm lymph nodes is mildly enlarged. I also think I feel my spleen though it is considered of normal size per ultrasound. At the time of diagnosis, my absolute lymphocyte count was 10.9K. At the 3

Ferritin follow up
Per recommendations of Sue, Jools and others I contacted my Dr to request a Ferritin test. Haven’t heard back yet but I found labs that were done in 2019. My ferritin level was 34 at that time. Does anyone know if ferritin levels improve on their on or should I assume it is still low until I can get

Ferritin and Haemoglobin levels
Hi All, my husband had to abandon radium 223 when it was discovered that he had several lung nodules (around 8mm). His PSA has been increasing for the last 18 months (he was diagnosed August 2022) so his oncologist sent him for a scan after the 4th radium infusion which is how the lung nodules were discovered

Anyone had an iron infusion
My husband has CLL and has a problem with low B12 and folate. His ferritin is also stubbornly low for which he’s been recommended an iron infusion for deficiency anaemia and injections for his B12 deficiency I’m ok about the B12 injections but for some reason feel a bit nervous about the infusion but

Opinion on my B12 and folate tests, and what are ideal levels?
I got the results back for my b12 and folate a few days ago. My folate is low, so I have changed my diet to get my folate up that way. I can't tolerate any supplement form even in small doses (folate, folinic, folic acid etc). What about my active b12 - Monitor My Health says it is fine, is that right
