ferritin
It is not advisable to supplement ferritin without first doing a full iron panel for a comprehensive picture of iron stores. I recently posted about my own dip in ferritin levels (& ordered a 3 Arrows supplement in preparation….as my gut feeling was that I needed them). However, my iron panel results were actually very good, & as such supplementation would have had adverse health effects. Too much iron can be toxic and damage may be irreversible, hence comprehensive iron panel testing is vital.
To improve ferritin, look at increasing iron rich foods in diet. A obvious choice for meat eaters is to include liver or liver pate on a weekly basis. Having orange juice with meals aids iron absorption.
I’ve found dailyiron.net a useful site for improving ferritin via dietary choices.
