Another " is this normal" question.
After a few months of very little AF activity, I'm now having a bit of a rough time of it feeling quite ill a lot of the time, light headed and aching neck and shoulders but no noticeable heartbeat extra activity. Have been diagnosed AF/SVT for about a year now and am on 10mg Bisoprolol, 50mg Losartan

statin. The doctors seem to think it is a treatment of APS/Lupus. I also have warfarin. What is your opinion to this new drug? Thank you! Kerstin

Results from recent fasting blood test.
During a wellbeing examination 3 weeks ago by my gp, my tryglicerides and tc levels were found to be 54 and 14.4 respectively. I have an appointment with a specialist in 1 week. I feel a little let down by the lack of support from my gp, although I have a myriad of questions ready for my specialist.

Cholesterol and CKD oh the Joys!!!
We moved back in May and had to change our doctors. I was very apprehensive due to being at my previous surgery for years. I have not been feeling well the last couple of months off and on and after my sore throat episode and recent pompholyx, which has eased a little now on my feet, I thought hopefully

AF Symptoms?
I have recently started to experience pains in my neck and shoulders, with a little "stich like" niggle under my heart, along with feeling quite ill. Am on warfarin, bisoprolol, losartan and simvastatin. I have had a few good months up until now, really disappointed as had began to feel "normal" again

Are commercial cholesterol testing kits/machines any use?
Hi, This is my first post. I have really benefited from reading all of your blogs and questions so far. I had a stent fitted 6 weeks ago due to a severe blockage in LAD coronary artery. Alongside all the other meds I need to take, I have tried Atorvastatin and Pravastatin (as well as Simvastatin previously

Can some of the pain also be due to statins?
I have been having typical PMR pain - although with normal blood results, and am on prednisolone. Initially I had dramatic improvement, but recently the pelvic girdle pain is increasing. I was on simvastatin 20mg, but was changed initially to bezafibrate (because of muscle pain) which was ineffective

My journey from misery to hope.
I wanted to share something. As some of you are aware, I had my Levothyroxine reduced just over 7 years ago from 150mcg down to 100mcg purely on the basis of the TSH. At the time I had only basic understanding of my situation as a post-total thyroidectomy patient. I had been quite well

Statins Linked With Risk of Musculoskeletal Injury
Relevant for thyroid patients because cholesterol and thyroid hormones are linked. GPs are being persuaded to prescribe statins to lower cholesterol, rather than look for the real cause of high cholesterol. There is a debate elsewhere as to whether raised cholesterol is the problem it is made out to

Alternative treatment?
As I got the diagnosis PBC in September'12 and on a treatment of Ursofalk. After 6 months some new bloodtests indicated that was'nt sufficient, so now I have to take fenofibrate as well. Since the itching comes and goes (I have Questran for that), and I feel very confused and I am obviously very unhappy
