Is atrial tachycardia just another name for a type of AF

I then had an aortic valve replacement a couple of months later and due to my age it was decided to give me a mechanical valve replacement even though it will mean being on life long warfarin. Hello, I’m new here although I did reply to a query last week. Has anyone had a Type A dissection of Valsalva Sinus repaired? Apparently it is quite rare and I was lucky to have survived for three months after the tear occurred. I had an attack of chest pain in March and spent some hours in A&E where

Bypass surgery burning, nausea from Amiodarone
My mother had double bypass for AFIB in May 2018. Her surgery was successful but not with some complications. She had two ablations done prior to the bypass. Both being on 4/7/2017 and 11/13/2017. The first ablation procedure was stopped due to a wire nicking an artery. The second was a success. The

Stress
Can stress cause a heart attack? I had a heart attack over twelve months ago. Symptoms were: I had taken a bite out of an apple and I thought I had got it stuck as the pain was in the middle of my chest! anyhow rushed into hospital and given drugs etc and a week later while still in I had an angiogram

Just been diagnosed with high blood pressure and got my prescription today for Ramipril, feeling really nervous and unsure about the future now, anxiety is thoroughly kicking in, any words of wisdom or advice would be hugely appreciated, got to have an ECG in a couple of days and blood test in a couple

Breathlessness
Hi Forum Friends, last year I was diagnosed with AF after a health check ECG. I have never had any symptoms of this no attacks or problems. I am on 2.5 bisoprolol, Antorvastatin, Ramipril, Apixaban and Furosemide. My problem is breathlessness. 100 yards and I am wrecked. I was so fit a year ago, gym

Amlodipine
Hi. I have aortic valve stenosis. A (junior?) consultant has just prescribed amlodipine. The leaflet within the box specifically bullet-points not to take it. Who is right? TIA.

Coronary artery disease
Hi. I'm new on here. Currently having a tough time getting meaningful follow up after having a Myoview heart scan. I'd started with bad chest pain in March, not realising what it was. It reoccurred less severely two more times, each time my GP sent me to A&e. ECG & blood tests clear, so I was booked

trying to recover from endocarditis
I have been home now for 4 weeks, after treatment for infective endocarditis and heart disease too. Once again, I have a serious UTI, which is what was suspected as a suspect when the endocarditis was found. All my meds have changed; I have been given blood thinners, and also Amlodipine which is giving

Annual Review with Cardiac Echo & Consultant
About a week ago I had my review. Last year was good but this year is better. My ejection fraction (63%) and heart function is now normal although their is persistent effect to the mid and apical septum, I still have some leaky valves, but nothing out of the ordinary for most people my age (63) .

Introduction
I am a 68 year old man diagnosed with AF in February 2018. I dont have any real symptoms and the AF only picked up after I had ECG at GP’s surgery following ‘Irregular Heartbeat’ being highlighted on my home Blood Pressure Monitor. I have seen Cardiologist a few times and now on Propranolol and Ramipril

RECENTLY DIAGNOSED WITH HEART FAILURE
My husband has recently been diagnosed with heart failure (severe left ventricular impairment) . The doctors at the hospital think this is due to atrial fibrillation which was untreated for almost 3 years. He is on Amiodarone, furosamide and amlodipine. He is also diabetic - Type 2, diagnosed
