RECENTLY DIAGNOSED WITH HEART FAILURE

My husband has recently been diagnosed with heart failure (severe left ventricular impairment) . The doctors at the hospital think this is due to atrial fibrillation which was untreated for almost 3 years. He is on Amiodarone, furosamide and amlodipine. He is also diabetic - Type 2, diagnosed 12 years ago. The last few days he seemed to have a lot more energy but today he says he feels like he has butterflies in his chest. His heart rate is irregular and he doesn't have any energy. I know it's very early days but is this the way it goes? - good days and bad days? Or does this mean that the drugs only worked for a little while? He also has oedema again in his left foot which had previously disappeared.

Would appreciate any advice.

Thank you.
