I’m scared
I have been diagnosed with autoimmune hepatitis and my consultant is saying that my most recent scan suggests more scaring than they previously thought . I need to stay on steroids now for longer and then reduce more slowly. My blood tests are all good and I feel well but this has scared me . I should

OK, I'm probably going to sound hopelessly optimistic here, but yesterday evening I met my EP Cardiologist who was giving a talk and update on AF and it cheered me up immensely. We hadn't met, but the technician who fitted the monitor told me to "make myself known". So I did. For the first time since

F2 fibrosis, scared
Doc seems to laugh it off whem I bring that up, saying
fatty
liver
is manageable with proper diet/weight control. But that doesn't say anything about the fibrosis! He doesn't seem to know, and Im not set to see the gastro until next year!

Fluctuation of Platelet Count
Good day. Since May 2022 through January 2023 I have had 4 Blood Draws. The first showed Platelets stable at 150. Then they dropped considerably (31 pts) to 119 (11/22). They recovered slightly to 122 (12/22) and now presently have recovered all the way back to 150 (28 pts) (1/23). I am fully aware

The value - or not - of Liver function blood tests…
Anyone who has encountered me on this forum will know that I have suffered from health anxiety for most of my adult life, and that I have been suffering from from all over the body itching for the past couple of months which I feared could be due to either cirrhosis or liver cancer even though I had

omega 3 supplement
Good morning everyone. I saw my cardiologist yesterday as I’m having a new knee next week and for my own peace of mind had an echocardiogram which shows my heart is now as it was before AF and high blood pressure were found 3 years ago. She said this showed my blood pressure tablets and healthier lifestyle

"Very abnormal LFT" + urgent fast track ultra-sound referral?
It is the GGT levels which are the worst,
fatty
liver
perhaps? I definitely don't have the healthiest of diets and like to indulge in some of the tastier things in life! Any input will be greatly appreciated thanks ☺️

Why don’t the medical team looking after me provide me with information on Cirrhosis?
I feel like I’m be left in the dark! Why do I have to ask all the questions and try and do my own research? I understand everyone and case, symptoms are different from my own research but surely in the times we live in the consultant and or team should give patients a general knowledge on what may or

Brief update on my lower Intestinal Tract Capsule Endoscopy.
Just to let you know that the procedure went fine. Although the camera was a little larger than an Omega 3 high strength capsule, I found that with the right mindset I swallowed it easily. The staff were a little disconcerted about my long term steroid use and the possibility of an adrenal crisis and

some good news
I was diagnosed with liver cancer with 2 tumours, one measuring 3 1/2 cm, in June of last year. The oncologists said I would do well to have two years but with a treatment called TACE I am now cancer free. I do have cirrhosis which they say is the reason that I have the liver cancer, I also have varises

So far only ultrasound of a
fatty
liver
with a lot of fat which was a follow up to Alt 187 and ast 126. All liver enzymes are back to normal after two months of diet and excercise. Per the GI I’m seeing, fib 4 was under one and low risk. I was 43 bmi now down to 39.
