Hello,
SORRY IN ADVANCE FOR LONG POST!!
I am new here and have recently got a high LFT after my annual blood pressure review checks. I was a very heavy drinker, daily. The reading was 107. 16/12/22.
After alot of tries at talking to my GP they agreed for a fib 4 blood test which was carried out last tuesday. So far the only result back was cholesterol (high) and elevated serum GGT 54. I stopped drinking after I found out result so had been a month sober when had last bloods done. I have also lost just oer a stone in weight (was very overweight too)
I saw GP on Monday who advised still waiting for all results but 'it would be fine' and just change my habits and re-test in march.
My ALT was rising from 20 - 78 - 107 since end of 2021 and I was never informed.
I rang today to see if my results were all back and was told they were waiting for autoimmune profile and Serum A1 or something? Receptionist said all others were fine.
I am confused as would they know they were fine without all the results being back to calculate fib4?
My main other question is I have had mild discomfort feeling of fullness over my liver on and off for years and more so since summer 2022 that has come and gone but now I have stopped drinking, now day 36 I wonder how long it will take for this feeling to subside (or wont it ever go away) I asked GP and asked if it was because I had been damaging myself for so long as she agreed that it probably was that and it will take a while to disappear.
due to my having not a lot of luck with GP's and after all these results not being flagged until December 2022 will the discomfort go eventually, can my results be 'fine' without the full tests back?
Sorry to ramble I just don't feel like I am any further after over a month. Also disappointed that the gamma serum GTT was still indictive of alcohol use after 35 days of being sober. But obviously I am not meidcally trained in anyway and at a loss.
