anyone have high ferritin? First time I ever had this test and it came back 317 (275 was lab cut point). So far only ultrasound of a fatty liver with a lot of fat which was a follow up to Alt 187 and ast 126. All liver enzymes are back to normal after two months of diet and excercise. Per the GI I’m seeing, fib 4 was under one and low risk. I was 43 bmi now down to 39. Weight loss was a bit fast at first snow it is like spurts. Hoping once Ana and ama test comes back the GI will entertain my request for MRE or even biopsy

ferritin is usually high due to inflammation, just ask for a MRE, it is a good tool to tell you the state of your liver, biopsy is only to tell you the cause, seems your problem is your diet, if so continue to lose weight, not to fast, and make sure your are exercising.

Losing the weight is likely to be the docs advice. You are on the right track and your bloods are improving so absent some new information the doc is likely to just tell you to stay the course with lifestyle. Your values were certainly a warning but your response is good and a doc would likely have to fight with your insurance to get expensive testing but you can probably get a FibroScan which will be a good next step.
