Not shocked in the least
I'm a 66 year old retire male who found out about
fatty
liver
from an abdominal ultrasound for a completely different issue. Credit to my PCP for noticing and referring me to a heptalogist. Liver enzymes elevated but with an AST/ALT ratio always well under one.

Blood pressure/ thyroid
HiI was diagnosed with high blood pressure 4/5 months ago as feeling unwell. I have been prescribed the following tablets of which none have agreed with me - Amlodipine, Ramipril & Losartan. I'm now trying Spironolactone (water tablet). 3 weeks in & I'm getting more weary, confused, balance off & bowels

Spider Nevi
Former drinker. So I have noticed some red blemishes on my upper back. They are small but are not going away. I can't really see any blood vessels branching out from the blemish. Does spider nevi due to cirrhosis usually occur on the back? I have about three of them. I had slightly high liver enzymes

Change in body shape post transplant
I am now 10m post transplant, and all going well. Not perfect, but well. I find my body shape has changed a lot, I am much more bulky in my upper abdomen, above my navel to chest. I expected some swelling while my body got to terms with the new liver, but even after this time, I just seem so BIG

hi Hope you are all staying strong. I was on azaphoprine for Ulterative colitis for 8 years but this medication caused liver cirrhosis!! After several months of trying different steroids I am now on Adalimumab injections which seem to be working but I’ve only been on them for a month. Anyway, I

varices
I would like to thank all the people who replied the variety of experiences made me do more research and I found that Carvedilol and omeprazole are just as effective as banding, however I will ask for a further Gastroscopy in a year or two. As I’ve had a serious bleed before probably over reacted. Once

Apixaban (Eliquis) and Omega 3 supplements
Hey All!! Question...Are others who take Apixaban (Eliquis) also taking Omega 3 supplements (that include DHA)? I've read that it could be problematic...increase length of time for bleeding, etc. Any feedback would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Hi all I was diagnosed a while ago with “possible borderline cirrhosis” through an ultrasound, blood tests and a fibroscan score of 20. The bloods are all normal and the consultant just says it’s hard to tell if I definitely have cirrhosis or not. My question is, I keep reading here that people are

Hi all!
Hi Just wanted to say hello to everyone. I have Inflammatory Bowel Disease (was told 3 years ago it was unclassified, they were leaning more towards Crohns at the time) Since the beginning of that diagnosis, I had high liver function test results which were very high during my IBD flare ups, things

Ammonia Level
Hello! I am writing to ask about ammonia level 104. My family member has cirrhosis and previous Hep C. Currently they are in the hospital due to elevated ammonia levels. When the ammonia level rises it causes extreme impairment and lethargy. Two weeks ago they had scan of liver and it came back nothing

So pleased
My point is that initially, my GP took some real questioning to confirm that I had a
fatty
liver
. It was much worse than that and he seemed to play it down some what.

primary billiary cirrhosis and blood tests
Hi Wondered if anyone could answer this question for me. I’ve been diagnosed with primary billary cirrhosis. Is that different to any other type of cirrhosis or is that the same ? I’m wondering if this is why they have prescribed me URSO acid. thank you
