DAS 28 test .............update.
my joints and with only 1 or 2 exceptions they were all either swollen, hot or tender so I qualified on that part with flying colours.I then had a lot of phials of blood taken and also a chest X-ray so provided they come back showing the levels they are expecting then they will apply for funding for

Biologics applied for
I was offered a choice of four:
Etanercept
(a biosimilar), Adalimumab, Certolizumab pegol or Golimumab. Initially, I was shown a sideshow of anti tnfs in general, then shown the injection dummies and told how often they're administered. After that it was down to me: a daunting task!

Etanercept and tetanus
I have just received a bite from our dog (we were playing and my hand hit her tooth and broke the skin) I have rung the doctors and they have asked me to go and get a tetanus booster, but I am unsure as to whether I can have it whilst on
Etanercept
. Has anyone else had it? Thank you, Karen.x

Swollen knees back almost as bad as ever.
I had hoped my Benapali or
Etanercept
(It has both names on the box) would be working and would have helped them by now. Has anyone found any alternative treatment that has helped swollen knees? Have you found anything at all that has helped?

Preparing for winter - tips and tricks?
I just saw my specialist yesterday and I'm going to be given
etanercept
to try - I hope it works, the past few months have been very difficult and I only just managed to get through it. However I know from experience winter is the worst part of the year for me.

Hip giving way
No one seems that concerned but it is getting worse and I wonder if
Etanercept
will help it.

Newbie ☺️
I had many years pain free on
Etanercept
but had to come off this in 2014 as I developed cancer. Since then I've been trying other forms of meds and at the moment on a mix of sulfazalazine, methotrexate and hydroxycloriquine and is working for now.

Leg swelling again.
I like the way my legs felt and hate to think of the weeks I will be waiting to start
Etanercept
with painful swollen legs. ( The right one feels like it is doing the same but not as bad yet.)

Assessment
I had my assessment yesterday for
Etanercept
. I think it went well and I met all the criteria. The annoying thing is that although I was assured the one I had done in February would count, the same person told me yesterday it wouldn't.

Update on Biologic request
I have written recently about how my rheumatologist suggested I start on
Etanercept
. That was in February and I hadn't heard from anyone since. Today I have had an appointment from the Biologics Assessment clinic for 15th June. What happens at this clinic?

Should I stop my methotrexate?
I am waiting to start
Etanercept
and am finding I am becoming more and more exhausted and feel like a zombie. Also my RA pain is becoming worse and when I try and lower my steroids I can't lift my arms higher than out straight in front of me and can hardly walk, so I increase the steroids again.

I take 14mg pred at the moment plus 15mg methatrexate which isn't working, so it has been suggested I try
etanercept
. I have had an x ray and am just waiting.
