dreaded GP request for bloods
Well there it is. It took longer than I expected I must say - around 7 years since I started my (real) thyroid journey, and about 5 since I last spoke to a GP about it, but the call has finally come. No more T3 until they have bloods. Of course I have bloods, but they almost all show me being over

adrenal insufficiency
hi I have a question about changing medication. I have GCA (3 years) but doing well and have reduced pred to 3mg. My endocrinologist wants to change the prednisilone to cortisone twice a day, 10mg am and 5mg pm in order to help kick start the adrenals. I've had the short Synacthen test twice now and

Supplements for Insulin Resistance
Hello Everyone, I've been reflecting on my symptoms and have come to realize that they are all connected to insulin resistance. These include issues like brain fog, not feeling satisfied after meals and feeling dizzy in the evening etc. The good news is that my fasting insulin levels are now within

Is pseudamonas contagious??
Hi, Does anyone know if my pseudamonas could be transmitted to those who live in close proximity? I always thought not but I've been worried about my OH's persistent cough - I know there could be many other reasons for his cough and his recent sputum test was clear but....

Hi,I recently tested positive naturally after years of infertility and IVF. I am going to phone my GP on Monday but the functional thyroid doctor who has prescribed me LDN and T3 is currently on leave. I am currently on 4.5mg LDN, 125mg levothyroxine and 25mg T3. I have read that your medication should

How to split thyroid erfa in two doses?
Good morning, I have been taking thyroid erfa for more than a year now. It has helped a lot. Higher body temperature, higher pulse, no more constipation, no more cold chills, very good free T3 levels (5+), no more heart palpitations. However, I am still very tired and it gets me the most around lunch

Cortisol Testing
I found the following on Google... Can you test cortisol levels while on prednisone? If you are on prednisolone once daily, you can have a synacthen test in the morning before your next dose. The prednisolone from 24 hours previously will not be detectable, so the cortisol values will be accurate. https

I have numerous chronic health problems, most recent over last 4+ years being Long Covid with dysautonomia ( including hypertension with bad postural hypotension)…anyway on the look out for alternative health advice/ support , as NHS given up on me. Should I be concerned, or not?
HiI was referred to Hepatology by Haemotology in January as my ferritin levels were fluctuating. I had an ultrasound and a fibroscan and eventually saw the consultant in late May. He was very reassuring, told me my liver is "mildly fatty, has some inflammation, is relatively stiff with some scarring

Low synacthen test result
I've had one of these tests today and the nurse said I was very low at producing cortisol. That will explain my knackeredness for 2 months after each 0.5mg taper, (nearly stop technique) and I'm on 3.5mg at the moment. As it will be a while before I see my rheumy I wondered what we're the implications

Hypothyroidism and fibromyalgia
Has anyone else been diagnosed with hypothyroidism and fibromyalgia ?? I’m in so much pain mainly my back, legs and feet. But pain differs from day to day and is constant.Had my thyroxine upped to150mg and been put on amotriptoline 10mg but no change. At my wits end. Constantly tired and can’t sleep.

Sticking to one brand of T3
I'm taking T3 only and have been regularly given a mix of 2 different brands. I've noticed that when I finish one sort and start the other sort, I get a slump - typical low thyroid sort of thing - and that one of the brands suits me better than the other. I work full time and want to try and avoid

Help with self-injecting
Hi everyone. As scared as I am to think of self-injecting, I finally placed an order for B12 ampoules today. (Thanks, Wedgewood for the info!) I have injections every eight weeks but like clockwork at four weeks in, I always have trouble while out on walks, feel like I am going to fall over

Phenergan & T4/T3 contradictions - anyone know of any?
Hi all, Pretty much what it says in the title. I'm looking for some short term sleep support, and as I'm on combined T4 & T3 therapy, wondering if anyone knows of any reason not to take Phenergan (sleeping pills). Many thanks! Xx

Cortisol synacthen test
I am looking for honest advice please. I have had a 9am cortisol test 148nmol/L range (133-537) the results said about different markers as in the picture. The endocrinologist I saw has said it’s fine and when I questioned the test was told I can have if I want it but she doesn’t think I need it. She

Bone density
Hi, I am from a family of 6 and 4 have thyroid issues and I suspect the other two are in denial. 3 of us are on T4/T3. My eldest sister now feels the need to get onto T3 but being told that at 70+, if her bones are thin then she cant have it. Is there any defuinitive testing that shows a correlation
