Hi
I have an update on my post below from a few weeks ago
Much to my surprise I have been successful in being offered travel insurance to cover my existing medical conditions (below) with Cover-more or Allianz for our intended travel to Europe and North America
Cover-more initially refused cover. We asked for a review. They then asked for all my medical records which we supplied and they responded quickly saying yes they would cover me. When dealing directly with Allianz they refused cover but through Aon ( a broker ) they agreed. I think Aon had access to someone who understood the role of Ibrutinib in treating CLL. It seems that some companies think of Ibrutinib as being like Chemo or Radiation so automatically decline cover, which means people need to go through the review process
If anybody wants more information please contact me directly
I have CLL (diagnosed 2007 male age 53) and have been on Ibrutinib since September 2018 which is still working fine. Associated high blood pressure and AF is controlled with Pardaxa and Bisoprolol Fumarate
