Has anyone heard of trial DB-1311-O-1001?
Hi all, I’m wondering whether anybody has heard of the above trial? My Dad had been put forward for this and was advised yesterday he got through onto the trial but the paperwork says “first trial on humans”. They aren’t sure of the side effects and we are all feeling a bit apprehensive… My Dad has

Replace or reorganize neurons
Can someone explain :Does the parkinson's glove therapy assume we don't have a loss of Dopa. Neurons but they just need to be reorganized. Via vibration Where gene therapy assume we have a loss of Neurons that need to be replaced ? Which is it, replace or reorganize?

Death from other-than PCa is not a "success"
A tongue-in-cheek stated goal by many here with PCa (including myself for the past 17 years since dianosis) has been to live to die of "anything other" than prostate cancer. Of course that does not bear up to close scrutiny. Many alternative causes of death, including the "big 4" of Cardiovascular Disease

ADT Side Effects and Supplements.
Ok I just read some comments about Lupron and ADT side effects and felt I had to ask the members a question. Yesterday I saw my urologist for my 6 month routine follow up. He looked at my labs and commented on how good they were for a guy on adt for two years. When he got to my kidney function his comment

Zoladex injection
I began the zoladex injection in January of this year, I then had a laparoscopy in March which diagnosed my endometriosis. I had light bleeding for a couple of weeks after and then it completely stopped. Since then, I've had 2 episodes of heavy bleeding lasting 10 is days. No hormonal treatment has helped

Ped5i/Tadalafil etc as a benefit to SE of ADT?
Tadalafil , etc is prescribed for ED, BPH and PAH (pulmonary arterial hypertension). It is pretty much agreed upon that Tadalafil increases insulin sensitivity thus improving lean body mass, particularly around the gut, improves Testosterone/estrogen relationship and is good for heart and vascular health

Forgetfulness on ADT
Are there any ways to help with the side effect of forgetfulness / mild cognitive impairment while on ADT? My Dad (stage 4 PC) started on ADT 2 only months ago, but there have been a few moments of mild cognitive impairment since starting - forgetting shopping list, trying to return stuff at the wrong

Spine metastasis
My father in law is 78 year old male with PCA with what appears to be a single spine metastasis. Gleason 7 ( 4+3) We have an appointment coming up with the radiation oncologist . Is this something they would get a PSMA TEST for to confirm and also would he just receive ADT with radiation to primary site

Targeted Gene Therapy for Symptom Relief in Parkinson’s Disease
Very early, still a looooong way out, and results were only in animal models, but something to keep an eye on. https://www.brainpost.co/weekly-brainpost/2023/11/7/targeted-gene-therapy-for-symptom-relief-in-parkinsons-disease

Vitamins with ADT?
Hi Tall_Allen, You do not recommend vitamins when on ADT? I am on daily Casodex, has been for several years, and I am taking - Multivitamins, C-, D-, K- vitamins and magnesium daily. Should I stop this? Can you elaborate a bit on why you do not recommend taking vitamins? Thanks in advance!

Disgusted with Healthcare
I had to request my PCP to do a PSA as it wasn't standard practice. I had to call the urologist, who I originally saw, after I joined this board and knew I should be starting ADT, even though they hadn't two months after my scans showed Stage IV. I saw the surgeon even though it was Stage IV and wasn't

Low Testosterone Linked With Mortality Risk in Aging Men - by Jeff Minerd , Contributing Writer, MedPage Today May 13, 2024
No way to know if this is applicable to those on ADT, but it would seem to be relevant for consideration. The highlighted portion is a useful guide on male sex hormone targets for those testing them. These results might also add support for Morgentaler's "Saturation Model" for testosterone. Full

Compression fracture or something worse?
Hello! My dad has been battling stage four prostate cancer for nearly nine years. He's done remarkably well, all things considered. He's had chemo, hormone therapy, immunotherapy, radiation, and second line hormone therapy. Along the way he has had heart issues and also CNS lymphoma (brain cancer).

Penis after metastatic prostrate cancer and hormonal treatment
HelloI was diagnosed in September 2022. Was immediately put on ADT hormonal treatment. Had radiation to the prostrate and radiation to the spine where it spread. My issue is penis shrinkage. Because of the hormonal treatment I have issues with getting with errections. Also was told by many fellow journeymen

PSA is back
I was 51 yr old diagnosed with Prostate cancer state 1 with a PSA 4.7. Gleasons mixed of 3+3's and 3+4's.I had robotic prostatectomy. Psa was undetectable until January 2023 and slowly creeped back up to .19 now in April 2024 . Just started Hormonal Therapy with radiation scheduled for August.

Stopping Orgovyx after six months
My brother has PCa as well. We keep it in the family... He had a PT ten years ago but his PSA rose so he got salvage radiation and went on Orgovyx. His MO said he would be on it for 18 months, as is SOC. He didn't like his MO so he switched to a GU MO. That MO said the research showed six months of ADT

Rise in psa
I had rp in 2021 with recurrence 12 months later to 1 lymph node. RT to 9lymph nodes and zoladex hormone therapy for 18 months. Psa has been undetectable for 12 months but just rose to 0.03. Do I need to wait until it rises to 2.0 as I've seen advice before or is there a more proactive approach? Thanks
