First appointment with nhs Rheumy
Hi, I had my first nhs appointment with the Rheumy who is based at the same health centre as the one I have seen privately. He did say to me that he was aware that I had seen one, I had already had my bloods done prior to the appointment. He said my RF was 170 which is high, he gave me two booklets

Saw a specialist
I saw a specialist in endometriosis last week and it was eye opening. I had to pay for it or wait 12 months so I opted to go private. I spent over an hour with him and he was incredible. He explained everything and was very practical. I had a list of questions and he answered all of them. I already know

Newly Diagnosed Polymyalgia
I am a 57 year old female living on a smallholding in the Welsh hills. I have historically suffered on/off back pain that tended to travel between my lumber and thoracic regions, the last three years being more on than off. I finally have a diagnosis, of quite frankly, a condition/disease that I had

Hi I am waiting for unexpected surgery for heart valve replacement. I am going on holiday in June and I wondered if anyone had advice on travel insurance companies who would cover me possibly while I wait for surgery?

Two years post mini maze (surgical ablation).
How on earth is that 2 years since being down in London taking that step into the unknown of having surgical ablation, hoping for a good result, knowing research said I had a good chance, but like everything it’s not guaranteed. Sharing my experience on here with you all each step of the way. Well

Hot flash relief for anyone? What helps relieve feeling hot all the time?
I have been struggling with severe hot flashes and feeling hot all the time for about 6 months now. I have severely low estrogen as in non-existent at all and so my levels are not even showing up to even zero because of the fact that I've not had very many periods due to the fact that I have secondary

GnRH side affects and endo pain
I have had my second monthly GnRH injection out of three that I am having but have really been struggling with menopause side affects such as hot flushes, all over aches and feeling exhausted. Has anyone else had this and did these symptoms go on their own or did you have to have HRT tablets or did anything

I've been prescribed Amitriptyline for pelvic pain. Has anyone had success with this medication?
I've seen the consultant for Adenomyosis. He is referring me for an urgent mri to confirm it's Adenomyosis and listed for a hysterectomy, including my ovaries. It's an 18 month wait. So, I've been prescribed Amitriptyline and he wants me to trial Prostsap again. Which I'm nervous to do, as it was the

Medichecks hormone test. Any thoughts?
I’ve been on thyroid replacement for about six years now and starting to feel that quite soon I will have improved as much as I’m going to and I’m wondering if HRT could be the last part of what I need to feel more like me. I’ve remained reasonably well all things considered but it’s as though I’m a

Extra heart beats - should I pursue this?

HRT - does it take effect quickly?
Hi For those of you on hrt do you feel the difference quickly or is it slow like levo? I am just about to start a trial of oestrogen patches and progesterone tablets. I still have regular periods but have on going fatigue and muscle aches, palpitations etc. Gp thinks it's because I'm perimenopausal.

I was on NDT for years, developed hyperthyroid symptoms +very low TSH (normal ft3 and ft4), had heart arrythmia and high blood pressure, lost a lot of hair. Taking NDT didn't help with my weight problems or other

Knee Replacement Yesterday
Thanks to those of you who wished me well yesterday. I had full knee replacement surgery yesterday afternoon. On the advice of the surgical team I had my normal dose of Prednisolone in the morning.
