HRT for ibs

Hi keep suffering with emergency toilet problems in morning sometimes comes on so quickly don't make it so fed up ruling life think it could be perimenopause as 53 now got worse over last year feeling like carnt cope much more trying to hold down job and my horses and feeling like giving up everything already on lanzaparole twice daily and sertraline 150mg daily so would any body think HRT would help sorry for rant fed up😥

Hi Star_1 don’t worry about ranting we all need to do it.

HRT might be worth a try, perhaps you should discuss with your GP?

Whilst I guess there's no harm asking and its impossible to second-guess NHS doctors, Id be surprised if HRT is prescribed for IBS considering its reported, past negative associations (some links below). Have you ever considered/tried Nutritional Therapy rather than drugs?

I have that issue around 3pm almost come on fast and I dont make it to bathroom.

Hi not sure HRT will help tried it for a while made symptoms worse. I feel for you diet helps a bit for me less stress are you taking lansoprazole for acid reflux twice a day is high again have taken this.

Yep take it for reflux do dairy free and plant base foods try to cut most gluten out but hard thanks for advice
