I have my "annual review" coming up soon, unless I "slip through the net" again, in which I am going to bring up the fact that both of these drugs are having side effects on me that I am getting a bit fed up with, and would like to know what alternatives there are. Ever since coming off the dual medication, I have alternated between the two (on both GP's suggestion and my own experimenting), and both are causing problems. The Aspirin is irritating my intestine and the Clopedogrel gives me a tight feeling in my windpipe/chest. Is anyone on other types of anti-platelet meds and do you get any side effects?

Aspirin/Clopedogrel alternative?
I’m on both of these at the moment, before the ha I was just on aspirin, 75 mg. I’m due to end cloppydog in November. I’ve not had any side effects.
I take them together in the morning with a pint of water followed by whatever I have for breakfast.
Luckily I don’t have any side effects...
I get similar problems with clopidogrel including muscle aches and pains, often in the chest which is unnerving. There are alternatives that work the same way, ticagrelor and prasugrel so it might be worth talking about these. Alternatively there are different medicines such as warfarin although my understanding is that is known for bad side effects.
I was on dual therapy, but now on aspirin 75mg following 2 stents last year. I switched from soluble aspirin to gastro-resistant as it irritates my stomach less. I saw the gastroenterologist privately last week who said I would be on Famotidine 20mg (Pepcid) twice a day coninuously as I cannot stop the aspirin.
I have had fleeting chest, arm and jaw aches since having the stents, All tests negative and only notice the problem at rest not exercise. I am not sure if my aches were related to stent settling or stretch, spasm, stomach issues or muscular but I am 15 months post op now and they have almost disappeared and finally feeling normal.
