Have been reading a couple of posts about the difficulty of overcoming hib flu (not sure if thats right). I routinely have the flu jab, but wonder if we can be protected from this hib bug?

I haven't posted on here for a while, simply because I've been AF free now for 14 months since the ablation. I saw my consultant for the last time this morning and we discussed the whole anticoagulation issue again. This was my final chance to come off them and with a CHADsVasc of 1 (being female),

Taking Fragmin whilst on Warfarin
I have been given 1ml syringes of Fragmin for use in emergency. My Consultant said to take it if my INR drops below 2.0. At the moment it's 2.7 and I feel awful. I have never taken the Fragmin as a bit nervous it may thin my blood too much whilst I'm trying to raise my INR. I feel so bad just now and

Hi all, to anyone who is having heparin injections, do you find that you have lots of lumps under the skin? I've been using arnica cream but it doesn't really help. Can anyone recommend anything else?. Thanks elfie.

A Long Road
My dad died at my same age from a pulmonary
embolism
. I'm really starting to worry here. Have a long-standing rash across both cheeks, so I'm also worried I may have Lupus. I feel very alone in all this. I also feel pretty confused.

Urgent advice please
Regarding my breathlessness they could'nt decide whether this is heart problem related or a secondary Pulmonary
embolism
, so they have organised an echocardiogram to investigate for right ventricular strain?

New Versions of Birth Control Pills May Double Blood Clot Risk
VTE causes blood clots to develop in the legs (called deep vein thrombosis) or travel to the lungs (called a pulmonary
embolism
) and can stop a person’s breathing.

New and confused?!
Long story short went to hospital had a scan and was found to have a huge pulmonary
embolism
. Right lung was 50% full and the left was 70%. It was a tough few weeks as I wasn't allowed to even get out of bed and pee on my own! Was on warfarin for 6 months and all was hunky dory.

PMR and Phlebitis
Has anyone else been treated for phlebitis who also has PMR? I had the diagnosis yesterday from a vascular surgeon. I am having the vein in my upper thigh sorted out next month using a local anaesthetic, VNUS I think the procedure is called. I am currently on 10mg of pred, is it a good idea to increase

Giant cell arteritis
I recently went into hospital for a prostate operation and finished up with a pulmonary
embolism
and now on warfarin to break up the clots. I have never been warned that I may have vasculitis but since GCA inflames the arteries I am wandering if I am a possible candidate.
