Eltrombopag

Is it a routine that Eltrombopag do not respond or respond less after some days? How to boost response to Eltrombopag without further immunosuppression?

The options are ether, Eltrombopag {Revolade Tablets} or Nplate {Romiplostim}. If you are or have tried either of these, I would be grateful if you would let me know what your experience is/was like. In particular I would like to know what the side-effects are/were. Thank you. Rafiq

I did not change any special medication, my existing medication is eltrombopag 25mg, prednisone 30mg, azathioprine 150mg. And I only added new food to my diet 3 days ago, I started to drink honey plus 2 spoonful of chia seeds mixed in daily.

Has anyone here experienced a remission while taking eltrombopag (revolade, promacta). I was put on the drug a year ago after some very low platelet counts (single figures), My initial dose was 50mg a day and I responded very quickly with counts over 350 after 2 weeks.

Revolade / Eltrombopag 25 mg with Azran 50mg and Prednislone/Wyslone 5mg for the past 3 months and my Platelets level are stable around 100. Taking Eltrombopag 25mg at an interval of once in 3 days.

Hi there l have been on the drug eltrombopag for 18 months. First starting at 75mg but now on 25mg. This has been a life saver for me. Tried all the other drugs with no good results, but eltrombopag was great. Give it a try - good luck.

hi im coming of steroids and platelet count dropping,might have to have rituximab again but it only kept platelets high for over a year, has anyone had or heard of eltrombopag or romiplostim as consultant is on about trying this on me,apparently its only about 5 years old, regards

For the last month my blood has been under 10 more like 4 - 6 (same really) and the doc has put me on Eltrombopag, 4 days in. I am wondering if anyone has any experience with how long it usually takes to come into effect?

Our daughter has started to show significant side effects to Eltrombopag and so we’re having to consider other options. She was given a smaller dose to see if this reduced the side effects but her count plummeted unfortunately....... Any help is greatly appreciated.

I'm 60 years old, have been suffering from ITP for several years and was put on Eltrombopag (revolade, promacta) about 4 months ago.

I've been on Eltrombopag for nearly 2 years now and, as those that are on it will know, getting your diet right both 4 hours before and 4 hours after taking your tablet can be very difficult as the medication does not work at all well when you have eaten any dairy or anything with added vitamins and

My 4 year old daughter had been taking eltrombopag since March. Prior to this she tried rituximab and prednisone with no success. Platelets had always been single figures since diagnosis in march 2015 (count was 12-16 with prednisone).

No success with steroids or chemo although Eltrombopag has really suited her and has catapulted and sustained a count in the 200's which is nothing short of incredible. Lots of "normal things" were put on hold over the last year. Would it be ok for her to have her ears pierced now?

A drop below will likely be the catalyst for Eltrombopag. Many thanks as ever.

Santa (with the help of his little elf Eltrombopag 😉)... has gifted me with 147 platelets... the highest I've been all year. Merry Christmas to everyone here... I hope the festive period brings peace, love and health to everyone here xx

I was then put in Eltrombopag/Revolde which increased my platelets to 199 within a month, all seems to be going well until I started getting awful side effects, my muscles were weak and my joints were painful, there were days I could barely move, alongside this my lovely thick shiny long hair started

The last 2 weeks, I started on lowest dose of eltrombopag. After 5 days of taking it my count rose to over 1400 and a week later still rising even though stopped taking. Potassium levels also rose very high. Consultant waiting for count to drop to decide where we go from here.

I was then placed on eltrombopag in September 15. Counts were reaching dizzy heights of 30 which was good for me. Unfortunately, after Christmas stopped responding to this. With a count of 2, they started me on rituximab and I have now had the last of the standard 4 treatments yesterday.
