He will refer me for an
echocardiogram
if it seems necessary. When I compare this with other people's experiences of their GPs as posted on the site I reckon I am very fortunate. Mind you, everyone should get the same or similar.

Hi all I am having a transthoracic echocardiogram ( bit of a mouth full ) this thursday.little nervous as I don't know what it's for
I have been slightly breathless these last few days. With enough wind to fly a kite . I think its more anxiety than anything else as I do tend to swallow more air when I am nervous. I do believe that an over active mind can be a trigger for all sorts of ailments . when I was rehearsing with my band

New to here but diagnosed for 18 months with hypothyroidism
Had another blood test and that result was a TSH of 22mu/L this was after the previous result was 4.46mu/L (my first diagnosis result was 27.63mu/L) I am now on 200mg a day and going for a neck scan,
echocardiogram
and to see an endocrinologist.

Any help appreciated
Two days ago he had a bubble contrast followed by a transoesophageal
echocardiogram
which showed a PFO and an atrial septal aneurysm. Having read that lots of people require several ablation procedures before success I have to wonder if this is the right thing for him to do.

My ablation experience
The nurses and doctor told me what was to happen, which was a TOE (transoesophageal
echocardiogram
), and then an ablation using both radio and freezing energy. They decided to use both radio and freezing at the same time to increase the chances of a first-time success.

Why don't doctors listen?
For most of my life I have been plagued with unexplained weight gain issues. The bulk of my weight increase very suddenly sixteen years ago the same time I was diagnosed with an enlarged prostrate. I went from thirteen stone to a whopping twenty two stone within six to twelve months, I was eating

Paroxysmal AF ? Causing
Have seen Cardiologist had
Echocardiogram
24 hr BP all normal which was reassuring! So does anyone else have eating as a trigger and possibly the mechanism of swallowing too quickly when the heart is ' primed' with in my case post viral or anxiety as further triggers.

Hi everyone. I have ADPKD stage 3 renal failure last GFR 34 and just done a creatinine clearance which was 40. Now have breast cancer too,
just wondered if there is anyone out there in a similar position. I had a partial mastectomy 4 weeks ago and am now on arimadex tablets starting radiotherapy soon. Also had an echo cardiogram today before starting Herceptin next week. best regards christine x

Anybody else dealing with mitral valve prolapse?
So when my GP suggested I go for an
echocardiogram
to establish a base line, I said "Sure. Makes sense.". That was last year and the test showed a very, very mild MVP.

My First Clinic Appointment Experience.
Hello everyone. I hope all of you are doing ok. Apologies, as it's been a while since I last posted. I was waiting for my first consultant appointment to be done and dusted. Well I saw him yesterday, and he confirmed my GPs initial diagnosis of RA. I now have to wait for a few days to see the Specialist

Transplant (on the list and activated)
This was far more intense and involved a 4 day admission to hospital where they carried out an
echocardiogram
, Right heart catheter, chest x ray, abdominal ultra sound, MUGA scan, and a VQ scan. a 24 hour urine save, and a counselling/transplant talk.

Time for a catch up
The results of my
echocardiogram
were finally given yesterday. It appears I have mitral valve regurgitation. I was advised to have checks every 2yrs just to see how it goes and not to worry.
