Hello again, I am hoping someone on the forum has had a similar experience. I have a cadioversion due Wednesday 10th.The thing is I have a lingering chest cold despite antibiotics. the doc says just cold? Will this delay my procedure regards general anaesthetic. My heart has shown up ok on echocardiogram but I am in permanent a/f. cheers

Hello Charles
I just had two cardiversionsfrom latest two days ago , it is easy procedure and took less than hour including TEE, I didn't feel anything just discomfort during the TEE
Based on my experience if the heart functions Are fine , doesn't matter anything else but they will check you again for sure before starting the procedures
Hope you will better before Wed
If you have heavy coloured flegm then they may not want to do it but I have had GA with a cough before now. .

Your anesthesiologist will make the call based on what she/he hears in your chest. If it is just a head cold, no worries but if you have have real congestion in the lungs they may postpone the procedure. Best to do anesthesia when the lungs are completely healthy unless the procedure is an emergency.
