Solving Restless Legs
These drugs —
dopamine
agonists such as levodopa and pramipexole — can also potentially cause drug dependence, Berkowski said.

DIY Parkinson's Glove Users - How are you adjusting?
I'm trying to see if there are any trends that would imply that this is replacing or amplifying
dopamine
, acting as an agonist or some other outcome. Myself, the glove has been great during ON times, but my OFF times have been increasing in severity.

Influence of sunlight on dopamine transporters.
For this, a substance is introduced into the bloodstream that can bind to the '
dopamine
transporter' located in
dopamine
brain cells and recycle
dopamine
after release (to communicate with other brain cells) so that it can be used again.

TTFD - I think I made a judgment error.
My Motion Disorder Specialist indicated that activity consumes
dopamine
. I have read that one way to increase production of
dopamine
is exercise. It is not unreasonable to conclude exercise can cause a demand of
dopamine
higher than your body can produce.

Gabapentin
After taking
dopamine
agonists for years, then tramadol, codeine and trying Kratom nothing was working and my doctor and neurologist would and could not prescribe anything else.

Post Illness Food Issues?
Even my "
dopamine
foods" are unappealing. I've resorted to eating cereal or nuts and cheese to quell my stomach but that is obviously not sustainable. I feel ridiculous being a forty four year old woman eating frosted mini wheats for lunch.

Gabapentin Hell!
I am going back to my GP to either try a different
dopamine
antagonist or go back to Pramipexole and will have to just put up with the consequences of augmentation.

Pregabalin -mode of operation
I have read Professor Earley's (Harper college in USA) paper on
dopamine
receptors etc and the various parts of the brain and would be interesting to know how pregabalin "fits" with this story? Thanks for listening Davchar

Mildly Burning After Withdrawing From Neupro
It has been 6 weeks now without any
dopamine
agonist and my experience has been overwhelmingly positive. Unfortunately, issues have come up recently that I thought someone might be able shine some light on them for me.

Need a good psychiatrist who doesn't mind writing off-label prescriptions.
I have two medical conditions that require and depends on the
dopamine
system, yet they don't see the connection. I asked both doctors if they would be willing to prescribe off label Amantadine. It showed some improvement, but it was a small study.

Ropinerole augmentation
I have been on a
dopamine
agonist for a little over 2 years. Currently on 2 mg of ropinerole before sleep. My last increase was 4-5 months ago. I have decided against anymore increases and will look to switch to Gabapentin if augmentation appears evident.

IPX203 shows sustained safety, efficacy in RISE-PD extension trial
Levodopa is a precursor to
dopamine
, the brain signaling chemical that’s lost in the neurodegenerative disease. Carbidopa helps prevent levodopa’s conversion to
dopamine
in the bloodstream, enabling more to reach the brain where it’s needed.

Psychedelics anti inflammatory can help neurodegeneration?
Don’t know if the laughter helped produce more
dopamine
or something else caused the improvement. I also felt my chronic shoulder pain was reduced so started looking for possible connections.

Thank you!
I suffered for over 20 years and was prescribed every
Dopamine
Agonist going, including patches which my skin was terribly allergic to.

Escape from DA Augmentation
I do not think that I have yet escaped from augmentation as this can take several months and I now plan to try resetting my
dopamine
receptors back to normal by gradually reducing the pregabalin from 150mg to ?

Still can't tolerate thyroid medication, housebound 26 F, very hypo and hypo adrenals, on HC 25mg
My endo prescribed me l-tyrosine, bcomplex, and dopatropic to help increase
dopamine
and Norepinephrine, Epinephrine. Is there anything else I can do? I am a mess. I have sibo and severe hypothyroidism also but can't seem to tolerate thyroid meds well now. I have hashis also, any help - please.

From Buprenorphine Patch to Tablet: A Memoir
About 3 months ago I successfully stopped using the Neupro patch to treat my RLS. 25 years or more of using a
dopamine
agonist came to a screaming halt and I was the one screaming. I could not have done it without Buprenorphine.

Flip flopping TSH and recommendations for private endo please
I am in desperate need of any experience and recommendation of a private endocrinologist who can help with the long standing disaster that is my hypothyroid, my imposing, imploding menopause and the plummeting
dopamine
drops just for good measure from ADHD.

Interesting Article: Promising new remedies for Parkinson's disease
HXT also has a direct effect on the
dopamine
system [14]. The fact that HXT acts directly on the
dopamine
system means that there is reason to believe that HXT will have a better effect used together with PEA at Parkinson's.
