After slowly coming off years of using the awful dopamine agonists, (pramipexole/ropinerole), thanks to the fantastic advice here, I'm now getting up to 8hrs sleep most nights.

Going without the dopamine agonist has been brutal, as was expected. It's only been a couple of days now completely without it, so I expect it will continue to be rough for a while.

If I don’t do any exercise whatsoever then the kicking is not quite as bad, but if I even go for so much as a 30 minute walk at say 7am, then take it easy for the rest of the day (do nothing) then by 11pm I’m in trouble, real trouble and I’m awake until the daylight comes up and my dopamine levels rise

Does this mean he will prescribe the dopamine medication? Do I refuse that? Many thanks!

As importantly, the medication used in treating PD, such as levodopa, dopamine agonists or anticholinergic agents, is also responsible for cardiovascular adverse reactions, but further studies are required to elucidate the underlying mechanisms.

What I realize now is that having too much dopamine from the medication can feel somewhat similar to my typical PD symptems (tight lower back/left side/muscle pain etc).

Results were better in patients who had not previously been treatedwith Dopamine agonists. Suvorexant is a sleeping pill used for insomnia and is currently being looked at to help Alzheimers.

GP that you are experiencing such symptoms from a dopamine agonist medication, it would be a breach of duty for your GP to stop that medication, and prescribe another dopamine agonist medication.
