Fava beans
After reading about fava beans as a natural source of
dopamine
, I started eating fresh steamed beans in salads almost daily. I do take Sinemet 25-100 3 times daily along with Rasagiline. In PA, USA they are available, seasonally, at Wegman’s as Melissa’s steamed.

The Wonders of the Mucuna Bean
“These substances, identiied or not, confer special powers on Mucuna, perhaps boosting the levodopa or adding some kind of
dopamine
agonism and even extended its effects. We need to continue investigating them.”

Today marks one month on
Dopamine
, 2 months before we see the doctor again. Hubby is also on a low dose of Clonazepam for spasms and agitation and to help him sleep better at night. All of this to say that the

has helped with stiffness.

Reply from MJFF re High Dose Thiamine
It’s been hypothesized for many decades that loss of Vitamin B1 (thiamine) deficiency may be involved in the
dopamine
pathology observed in PD patients.

Encouraging Press Release Regarding Nilotinib
Treatment with a single dose of the leukemia therapy Tasigna (nilotinib) improves the brain’s ability to use

in people with Parkinson’s by reducing inflammation and levels of toxic alpha-synuclein, according to Phase 2 trial results.

Trial for dopamine- responsive Dystonia?
I've come a long way, and enjoy meeting others in the same boat. Only been on Carbidopa- levodopa about a week. It's working like a muscle relaxer for me. I need to learn more. Would this mean I carry the Parkinson's gene? Anyone know of trials? Lucky me has several things going on. Just like most of

The hospice have been trialling
dopamine
patches to try to keep him more aware but after a good initial response, it has lost its effectiveness. When he is awake, at times, he seems to be on different plane and we aren't sure how aware he is of what is going on around him.

Weaning off dopamine agonist a nightmare
I would like to thank everyone for posting on here. I realize how certain treatments can help some but not others so the more information we can get to try really helps. I am in the process of weaning off Mirapex.....what a nightmare! Last night was my first night with not taking any. I have very

Dopamine wake-up call anyone?
I’m a PD warrior on C/L who can sleep fine as long as the l-dopa is where it needs to be. That means a dose before bed and then 3- 4 hours later a “wake-up” call for another dose. Yes, I just wake up just like that, and if I wait long enough RLS will kick in. A dose then will get me down for the rest

Dr Winkleman feels strongly that most doctors do not understand RLS or Augmentation and the biggest challenge is to educate doctors and neurologists who prescribed
dopamine
agonists and increase the dose, which he equates to pouring gasoline on a fire.
