He’s been unsupportive, he keeps pushing that I need to go on to a
dopamine
agonist or Oxy with Naloxone - Targinact. I don’t feel these are best options for me. Partly because of what I’m about to explain below but also because I know what the
dopamine
agonists do.

Am planning to get off .625 nightly pramipexole. Have been increasing slowly over the last 7-10 years and need to stop.
Are my
dopamine
pathways/ receptors etc likely to be too damaged after a decade on DAs to be able to withdraw from pramipexole? 6. Is pregabablin a stronger and therefore more likely alternative to help get off the pramipexole? 7.

Sorry, just venting.
I'm aware
dopamine
agonist is likely causing augmentation. Cant remember last time I had a proper night's sleep (yrs). Violent leg spasms every 20 secs for hrs + hrs on end, night after night.

I am worried about being over medicated with c/l , and especially after viewing the silver bullet presentation about that doctors perception of too much
dopamine
could be toxic. Does anyone have any thoughts, options, recommendations for me?

Repost from 5 years ago on on probability of genetic element. Nothing new to say, so I’m reviewing my back catalogue 😂
Yep, they’re still generating
dopamine
. Yet another stupid aspect of this nightmare I can add to my list that I posted recently

Changing meds: Strattera to Wellbutrin
I'm hoping that increasing
dopamine
as well as norepinephrine will help me more. ~~~~~ Today is my second day on bupropion (generic Wellbutrin). So far, my mind seems about as clear as it does on atomoxetine (generic Strattera).

Dealing with painful dopamine agonist withdrawal: advice needed
Those of you that have read my posts know that I'm experiencing an extremely difficult
dopamine
agonist withdrawal syndrom (DAWS). Now I'm at 60% of my initial 2mg dose of Neupro, i.e 1.2mg.

Another Withdrawing from Dopamine Agonist Question
Hello Everyone, It may seem over the top, but every time I post here, I feel the need to verbally genuflect to show my respect and thanks to those who are the foundation of this site. Thank you. First, the good news for me is that I have not put a Neupro patch on in 5 days! My second attempt to put

Dont give up !
Following 21 yrs of various
dopamine
agonists for chronic Rls I realised that augmentation was off the scale. Consultant poo pooed that theory and upped my dose again to 6mgs. Yes it helped albeit for a short time.

Why GCA went haywire?... Today I was diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease~
I've been put on Carbidopa-Levodopa to replace the
dopamine
I'm not making, I learned. There was relief in just getting a diagnosis. I was afraid it was MS, and apparently, I would have been better off if it was.

Pregablin
The Guy's team got me off of
Dopamine
agonist treatments and augmentation. Over 8 weeks I came off of them and onto Pregabalin. Over time my prescription has made 150mg, 100mg, and 50mg Pregabalin tablets available to me. I keep to a max of 350mg per day.

UK General Election. Campaign for better Treatment of RLS
Dopamine
Agonists should no longer be first line treatment because of the very high rates of drug-induced worsening (augmentation) and Impulse Control Disorder. GPs should be taught how to diagnose and treat RLS effectively.

I don’t care which supplement is working.
Sorry…
I am probably reacting to ideas in my head too quickly (Brain Storming with myself and with a touch of OCD (Obsessive-compulsive disorder)); but isn’t OCD a symptom of too much
in the brain?

Secondary question, Dr Buchfuhrer said that my
dopamine
receptors are likely permanently damaged from the years of pramipexole use at such a high dose (3mg + for a decade and 1-2mg for amother decade or so before that). Does anyone know what that really means?

Red Letter Day & Update
I pray to God that weaning off of it will be enough and that I won't suffer later for having been on a
dopamine
agonist for so long. :( All I know is that today a GOOD day. I'm so thankful to all of you for getting me to a place where I am feeling well for the first time in a very long time.

New Opiod Registry Paper published! Year 4.
All participants have a history of therapeutic response to
dopamine
agonists–a majority experienced augmentation–and take prescribed opioids for RLS (median duration at BL=2-years). Biannual self-report questionnaires track opioid dosage, side effects, RLS severity, and other relevant factors.
