Long-term treatment with transcranial pulsed electromagnetic fields improves movement speed and elevates cerebrospinal erythropoietin in PD
We hypothesize that treatment with transcranial bipolar pulsed electromagnetic fields improved functional performance by increasing
dopamine
levels in the brain, possibly through erythropoietin induced neural repair and/or protection of dopaminergic neurons.

has anyone heard of Brillia and S100B protein?
Preclinical evidence points towards the possible time-specific contributing role of S100B in the pathogenesis of neurodegenerative disorders including PD, mainly by regulating neuroinflammation and
dopamine
metabolism.

THC and augmentation
In researching THC use and RLS, it is described as a
dopamine
agonist. Is there evidence it can also produce augmentation? . It works very well for me and does not produce the side effect that makes Gabapentin, Lyrica or opioids unacceptable options.

Parkinsons? Or not?
A few days ago Peter saw a Neurologist (who he has previously seen and who was also inclined to think PD the culprit) but the Neurologist has now said that he is "pretty sure" that Peter does not have PD and that the good effects of the sinemet were "placebo and
dopamine
kicks".

Decreasing dopamine treatment levels In late stage Parkinson’s disease.
I am questioning the neurological position that decreasing
dopamine
treatments is a proper method for a patient exhibiting a deteriorating clinical picture.

Allergic Reaction to Sinemet?
Sinemet is also a
dopamine
agonist and actually has a higher rate of augmentation than pramipexole. But here is am. My newest problem is that about half way through the transition, I began developing a few red small red bumps on my legs, arms, back and chest.

Post DAWS: Pregabalin Augmentation
I found a couple of older threads started by Joolsg inviting comments on some studies that suggested that the risk of augmentation was lower for pregabalin than it was for the
dopamine
agonists.

Restless Leg Syndrome RLS long-term use dopamine agonists results in much worse RLS than before treatment, referred to as RLS augmentation.
What I have read from various sources is that
dopamine
agonists are a short term fix for RLS but can make it much worse long term. RLS is associated with low iron and iron supplementation is therefore recommended for RLS but excess iron is neurotoxic and associated with PD.

Most effective medications for suppressing Periodic Limb Movements of Sleep (PLMS)
RESULTS:Dopamine agonists like pramipexole and ropinirole resulted the most effective, followed by L-Dopa and other
dopamine
agonists. Alpha2delta ligands are moderately effective as well opioids, despite available data on these drugs are much more limited than those on dopaminergic agents.

Thought I was figuring things out...
He says "any normal person put on stimulant medication would feel improved energy and mood, but someone with ADHD won't necessarily feel an effect on mood or energy because they are going to now be at "normal"
dopamine
levels (vs. elevated as in non-ADHDers on stimulants).

Ketogenic Diet Parkinson's
The neuroprotection of dopaminergic neurons seems to be of great importance, taking into account the scale of the problem of
dopamine
deficiency. Levodopa (L-DOPA), i.e., a
dopamine
precursor, has been, for years, one of the main drugs prescribed for PD.
