Adhd and Restless legs
Have been interested as my daughter has recently been diagnosed with adhd and have read how
dopamine
plays a part in both. I've yet to find anything substantial myself.

How do you approach managing your ADHD?
My brains different than the non-ADHD brain, might be a bit smaller, deficit on neurotransmitters like
Dopamine
, and other stuff I'm still coming up to speed on. For me, my meds are not the silver bullet, it just addressing my neurotransmitter deficit. 2. Therapy.

Stimulants and non stimulant combo question..
For example, if clonidine lowers the levels of available norepinephrine, will taking a stimulant selectively raise available
dopamine
levels but not norepinephrine, as it normally would in monotherapy?

Dihexa peptide shows potential for PD and ALZ and (I believe) is currently available
Moreover, staining for tyrosine hydroxylase (TH), a marker for the
dopamine
neurons that were lost following chemical lesioning, returned to near normal after 34 days of treatment.

Irisin reduces AS aggregation
Intravenous delivery of irisin via viral vectors following the stereotaxic intrastriatal injection of α-syn PFF cause a reduction in the formation of pathologic α-syn and prevented the loss of
dopamine
neurons and lowering of striatal

Abstract from U of Maryland by Costello & Ferguson
Cabergoline (
dopamine
agonist) is employed to decrease prolactin production and its role in the progression of androgen-independent malignancy. We propose a clioquinol/cabergoline treatment regimen that will be efficacious for aborting terminal advanced prostate cancer.

Now I agather that this is because of 2 potential things, years of exposure to CD/LD medications or too much

L-tyrosine: any thoughts?? 💭
I’m awaiting meds (probably January)… in the meantime I’d read that L-Tyrosine can be helpful for
dopamine
release. I ordered some and took one but didn’t notice an effect that day. Just wondered if anyone takes them and what you thought of them?

Suggestions on natural herbs or vitamins to boost your mood?
I've used ashwaganda before but I think it takes a bit to help, PD makes my emotions more sensitive, I'm sure the low
dopamine
is a factor. I have low blood pressure and I didn't know it can cause low blood pressure, I've never notice ashwaganda effecting it.

Vagal Nerve Stimulation (tVNS) Research Summary
The influence of electrical stimulation of vagus nerve on a number parameter including the elemental composition of
dopamine
related brain structures has been investigated. 7 Vagus nerve stimulation (VNS) modifies brain rhythms in the locus coeruleus (LC) via the vagal solitary nucleus.

Morphine not working on RLS? Any experience?
This could also come on due to a drug induced increase in
dopamine
. Does anyone else have any experience of this, and is there a different opioid that hasn’t caused these problems?

Interesting Bits of News
We don't have enough
dopamine
, which (among other things) is a signaling molecule our brains use to push us to do something or to reward us when we have done something. More on this in my next post.

My Opinion: Collateral Damage due to Discontinuance of Pramipexole
Apparently, neither he nor I had heard of DAWS:
Dopamine
Agonist Withdrawal Syndrome. Several days ago, I had my first meeting with a general practice physician at an area hospital that is part of the Mayo Clinic Health Care Network.

Your 'teeth and gums' could be CAUSING your PD!

C/L induced Dsytonia - extreme pain.
I know both are
dopamine
agonists but I am not sure if we can do this. Our neuro is not ready to listen to the long suffering lists we say, so we thought of trying a few combination before we break it to the neuro. Looking forward for advice from here. Thanks.
