PCPs take note
I am currently deeply affected by augmentation after too many years on
dopamine
agonists. I wish that a PCP had referred me to a specialist for treatment long before this augmentation began. I am now seeing a sleep medicine specialist.

For those members going through the hell of
Dopamine
Augmentation reading this post must understandably feel that I’ve finally lost my wits or else found that silver bullet to rid the world of RLS. Well, I can honestly say that it’s neither, rather that I’ve reached a state of equilibrium.

First patient receives milestone stem cell-based transplant for Parkinson Disease at Lund University, Sweden.
The transplantation product is generated from embryonic stem cells and functions to replace the
dopamine
nerve cells which are lost in the parkinsonian brain. This patient was the first of eight with Parkinson’s disease who will receive the transplant.

Neck and arm twitches at night leading to arm and leg spasms. Any treatment options?
Heat seems to help, but really keeping my
Dopamine
levels steady is the best. Anyone else have these, and what helps you reduce or eliminate them? Thanks.

Placebo vs Nocebo
But I seem to do well even if low on
dopamine
. I whine a lot about this. But I was Dx'd with MS then APS then a DVT then BPH then benign tumors in my liver then PD. I seem to have gotten over all of them but for the PD.

S.Biomedics of Korea Okayed to test stem cell therapy for Parkinson’s disease
The study will evaluate the safety and efficacy of
dopamine
neural precursor cell transplantation therapy derived from homogeneous embryonic stem cells in patients who have been diagnosed with Parkinson's disease for more than five years.

what do you do when you’re “off”
Someone recently told me that
dopamine
breaks down to noradrenaline and then to adrenaline, which can feel anxiety especially when movement is difficult. My tendency is to want to sit still until this passes, which can take what feels like forever. what do you do?

SAM-e is it beneficial to Parkinson’s? It increases dopamine
Animal studies show that chronic SAMe administration increases dopaminergic tone in brain regions, including rat striatum (24), and increases CNS beta-adrenergic receptor density and activity (25,26). Thus, studies of central monoaminergic neurotransmitters support proposed mechanisms for SAMe antidepressant

Dopamine agonists and dystonia
I was wondering if anyone has experienced
Dopamine
Agonists - induced dystonia, is there such a thing at all? Thank you in advance for your comments.

Parkinson's Link to Gut Bacteria Suggests Unexpected, Simple Treatment
Such toxins lead to increased nervous system inflammation and the overproduction of α-synuclein fibrils – molecules known to amass in
dopamine
-producing cells in the substantia nigra part of our brains, eventually leading to the more debilitating motor and dementia symptoms of Parkinson's.

MAOI for depression in Parkinson’s
Next suggestion from my neuro psychiatrist is moclobimide but I read it doesn’t increase
dopamine
which I believe is fundamental in my depression given that it tied into Parkinson’s.

Cholesterol-lowering drug aids mitochondria in Parkinson’s models
“Across toxin-based and genetic models of mitochondrial damage and [Parkinson’s] in two different species, probucol improved survival, locomotor function, and reduced the loss of [

Pramipexole to Sinemet to ?
I talked to my PCP this morning (2/27/23) and proposed that I reverse the transition process back to P and then transition to something else (not another
dopamine
agonist). He agreed.

has anyone heard of Brillia and S100B protein?
Preclinical evidence points towards the possible time-specific contributing role of S100B in the pathogenesis of neurodegenerative disorders including PD, mainly by regulating neuroinflammation and
dopamine
metabolism.
