Really struggling to know what to do
One of my neurologists says this comes under the context of SWEDD (scans without evidence of
dopamine
depletion). Either way, I'm not taking any meds but I certainly have a good idea of what intermittent low levels of
dopamine
do to my brain and body.

Clonazepam, benzodiazepines & alternatives.
If I've had it with benzodiazepines, what SRIs or
dopamine
agonists might be an effective alternative (any recommendations bearing in mind side effects and dependency/withdrawal problems?

Keeping Step with Parkinson's: Balance, Posture and Gait
While tremor and muscle rigidity can be treated with
dopamine
replacement therapy, these medications are less useful when it comes to how you walk and maintain your balance. Dr.

Anyone get RLS as a withdrawal symptom trying to ween off Mirapex or another Dopamine agonist?
I try to wean off Pramipexole (Mirapex) periodically and my body does not let me do it.. I get RLS - either from withdrawal -OR- I got RLS since I started taking Mirapex and did not know it until trying to eliminate it. I wish I never started taking the sh*t. I believe it is highly addictive. Anyone

Anyone taking these drugs?
Anyway, is anyone taking norepinephrine reuptake inhibitors (venlafaxine, duloxetine), or norepinephrine-
dopamine
reuptake inhibitors (bupropion)? These are drugs that are supposed to compensate for a damaged LC.

New scientist article October 2015
It is this build up of proteins that is thought to trigger the death of brain cells that make the molecules like
dopamine
needed for movement and other functions.

levodopa and

agonists’ treatment in Parkinson’s disease (PD) patients can become ineffective to control involuntary movements. Laboratory studies on PD animal models suggest that physical training may help to alleviate these symptoms offering an alternative form of therapy.

Fast-Talking, Fast-Walking Contradiction
Since Parkinson's range of symptoms stem from the excessive (and unrelenting) loss of
dopamine
-producing neurons, a levodopa/carbidopa med such as Sinemet (which serves to generate and maintain
dopamine
) is frequently used as a diagnostic tool.

Sugar & alcohol reduce tremors? Undiagnosed diabetes?
They're saying high blood glucose after a meal reduces
dopamine
production, which is the opposite of what I was thinking.

Stem cell jab for Parkinson's "Daily mail 15/9/15"
The idea is that these will replace the cells that produce
dopamine
(a chemical that helps control movement) which die off in Parkinson's. Printed with kind permission of the "Daily Mail" Could this be a breakthrough for RLS ???
