Lower lip
This is very uncomfortable, I have to pull lip down to talk, another low
dopamine
symptoms, I'm guessing. Anyone have botox in face from Parkinsons symptoms? Thank you all for your advice, Maria

Dopamine Patch versus tablets your experience?
Hi, I am seeking your experience as to whether Patches are safe and do or do not cause more complications than the tablets. I was diagnosed with PD 6 years ago and my Neurologist has suggested a Neupro patch 2mg/24h because I reported no real on and off periods on the Madopar tablets and no real difference

Recording now available of presentation by Prof Barker - Cambridge University: "Can we repair the brain in PD using cell-based therapies?"
We were all treated to an amazing presentation by Professor Roger Barker, explaining in great depth and with simplicity the journey so far and future hopes of cell-based
dopamine
replacement therapies.

Instant help
When I am in bed trying to sleep and my legs are jumping because my
dopamine
agonist doesn’t work, then I stand on my cold balcony only in my underwear for about 5 minutes (at the moment it is maybe about 0 and 8 degree Celsius or 32 to 46 degree Fahrenheit).

Mirapex detox by microdosing?
Has anyone tried having a compounding pharmacy make the pills into microdoses and reducing extremely slowly so your brain has an easier time catching up with
dopamine
production? This seems like a gentler way of detoxing, but is there something I should be aware of? I'd appreciate any advice.

How can I get some real relief from this RLS torture?
Apart of course from
Dopamine
Agonists which I won't touch. Apologies for the length of my rant but, as you can probably tell, I am truly desperate (and miserable). 😭

16+ years since dx and what we’ve learned
I’ve long suspected levadopa was doing more harm than good and that the whole idea that PD being all about
dopamine
deficiency was in some way inncorrect.

Any Parky dancers out there?A bit of fun playfulness and music as medicine?
And would you share any of the tunes that shake you soles and soul and "water" your
dopamine
seedlings so they may sprout and grow... So i share one of my tunes.

High Dose B2 ?
I noticed this paragraph from the following report https://www.askdrray.com/parkinsons-disease-from-too-much-meat-and-too-little-vitamin-b2/ "Riboflavin (=vitamin B2) is an important ingredient in a number of metabolic processes in brain cells that result in the production of
dopamine
, a brain hormone

Parkinson's Animal Studies: Do Pretreatment Success Stories Mask Posttreatment Failures?
For most of us, by the time Parkinson's is diagnosed, something like 80 percent of the
dopamine
producing neurons have already perished. Likewise, for most of us, in retrospect we realize that Parkinson's symptoms had been building for some time prior to diagnosis, typically for years.

What are the worst drugs for Parkinson’s disease patients?
Also, drugs that deplete
dopamine
such as reserpine and tetrabenazine may worsen Parkinson’s disease and parkinsonism and should be avoided in most cases.

Sweetener / sugar trigger observations.
Does it affect the
dopamine
levels, I've looked this up but not finding much on sweeteners, the hormones and brain. I've always known I'm particularly sensitive, but couldn't of imagined sensitivity on this level.

Educating my Canadian Dr on opioids and RLS
I have suffered with RKS for about 10 years.I believe mine is caused by a
dopamine
deficiency.I live in Canada and I’m not sure my Dr woukd prescribe an opioid .. my guess is he wouldn’t.Is there any kind of literature or study that I can refer too to perhaps ask him to educate himself on RLS, as I can

Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA) and RLS - article
I only wish their Conclusion section came down more strongly against
dopamine
agonists - they underplay the risk of augmentation. Nevertheless, if anyone is looking for a thorough discussion of RLS comorbid with OSA this is an excellent resource. https://err.ersjournals.com/content/28/153/190061

Dopamine agonist withdrawal syndrome
My psychiatrist thinks I may be experiencing
dopamine
agonist withdrawal syndrome. The symptoms fit but I don’t see how changing an antidepressant could cause daws. Any thoughts or similar experiences out there. Merry Christmas to all. I am 67 female diagnosed in October 2018.

Gene therapy for genetic disorder affecting brain dopamine metabolism shows success; same delivery technique being investigated for PD
Really exciting report of disease reversal in children with AADC (aromatic L-amino acid decarboxylase deficiency); article mentions same delivery technique is being used for GDNF gene therapy in Parkinson's. https://wexnermedical.osu.edu/departments/innovations/neuronews/gene-therapy-new-approach
