Hi. I am no professional dancer but sure dance moves my heart and bones despite the Pd. I live in the middle of rural Ireland so no chance to take any classes, nor go swimming, and i cannot cycle so im left with dancing(on my own)and walking to keep my mobility and body alive. And so i do...stomp and swirl and shake and sweat to music as much as i can.
I was inspired primarily by the work of the five rythms urban shaman Gabrielle Roth (RIP) which i danced in the nineties.
Then researching healing for PD i came accross the gyrokinetics of Alex Kerten, "Goodbye Parkinsons Hello, life".
Then Musicophilia from Oliver Shaks(the guy of Awakenings)made me familiar with the concept of of "entrainment". The idea that if something vibrates whatever o whomever is nearby vibrates at the same rythm...
And of course not to forget our own Daphne Bryan, an accomplished pianist that wrote Music as Medicine.
I would like to know how many of us are out there inspired by the melodies of life, dancing and "exorcising" our PD away. And would you share any of the tunes that shake you soles and soul and "water" your dopamine seedlings so they may sprout and grow... So i share one of my tunes. I use spotify so for now is what i have and invite you to participate, talk, sing and share in the "parky orchestra" Here is one indian drumming tune i enjoyed today.
Breathe, move, Have fun and keep the inner child alive.
