Dopamine Vs long term pain

Hi everyone. First time post so be gentle, but I discovered something new which I wondered if any of you had knowledge of

Based on a hunch after many years of self managing pain as a lot of us have to, I got myself on to a sleep study.

Having never been a good sleeper and having noticed curious patterns in my pain, sleep and tiredness, and having done a good amount of reading, I wondered if the study would help.

Az a result of the study I was prescribed ropinarole to increase my dopamine levels and ease my (until then unknown) restless legs. With warnings that I may be extremely drowsy.

The effect was actually the opposite. I felt much more awake but at the expense of a significant hike in my neuropathic pain.

I don't have a diagnosis of fibromyalgia but do get the fog. And the clarity was very much a lifting of the fog. The neuropathic pain is from a trapped nerve in my lower spine but is suffered mostly in my legs and feet.

Have any of you had anything similar or contradictory? Or any greater knowledge on the treatment of long term pain via dopamine regulation.
