Dear all, thank you in advance for this. Any insights appreciated. I have been on levo (5omg) for 5 weeks and will be tested after 6 weeks. However, I have been tested regularly for other things and they have thrown in basic thyroid tests each time, plus I contacted old GP from the first half of this

Increase in GFR after major diet change
I went to University of Michigan at Ann Arbor on Wednesday. Had a complete blood workup. On July 25 I started following "Stopping Kidney Disease" by Lee Hull. After 5 weeks I had lost 8 lbs (BMI < 19) so I had to modify diet. I went to pure vegan meaning I was having beans, lentils and other plant

Intestinal noise
My hellish year with ibs is slowlllly starting to get a bit better by a very volatile but 'dry' diet. I have been taking one imodium a week at 8am which amazingly, along with small amounts of veg and fruit and most carbs has made me very comfortable. Its only after a week my intestines seem to go back

GFR dropping fast!
Hello. I'm a 58 year old woman diagnosed with CKD about 5 years ago. During the last few years I stayed pretty much at stage 3. I had a great nephrologist, then I moved to another state. Admittedly the move hasn't been great and I have gained 7 lbs! But most concerning is my GFR, since June, has dropped

Good afternoon
Well here’s my update on Ranexa Ranolazine, I started the pill on 375mg for 2 weeks which helped but towards the end of that time the Angina started creeping back again. I did get an upset stomach a couple of days after I started it but it only lasted 24hrs so not sure if it was connected. I’ve been

Does GTN cause worse angina pain?
I have had heart disease for 20 years. I have 2 stents. I have had numerous angiograms during that time. 2 years ago my angina symptoms returned worse than ever. I have seen a couple of cardiologists and am waiting a heart MRI to confirm suspected microvascular angina and or cardiac spasms. My question

Fatigue following angina attack
Hi... Whenever I have an angina attack and have to use my GTN spray, I get an overwhelming sense of tiredness that makes me fall asleep. Following this, I then feel totally exhausted and burnt out which can last up to a few days. Does anyone else ever feel like this? X

Sudden daily wetting during school
My 7 year old son has had problems with chronic constipation since the age of 2. He has been on movicol throughout that time and more recently supplemented with sodium picosulphate. He sits on the loo after breakfast and after dinner and at present is free of soiling accidents and does a poo most days

I'm 48 today! Why this is a sign of Birthday ' Brain Fog' and is this just another unwelcome gift of GCA/PMR?
I know we don't usually discuss our birthdays on the Forum but I thought this milestone in my Life might be worth mentioning to All you understanding folks because you may be victims of Birthday " Brain Fog" too. So , I'm 48 , why is this significant? Well , if any of you have read my posts or replies

Indapamide
I have recently had blood test which showed very low potassium and high sodium. My GP says can't give me supplements and has stopped Indapamide for a month. (no alternative diuretic given). I had aortic valve replacement January 2018 and am also hypertensive. My Ramipril was reduced post op and also

Bad weekend
So it’s been a bit of a crap weekend here - no pun intended. I went out with friends on Friday night and had an attack before I went - 3/4 loose and urgent BM. Saturday morning I had to go out so I took two Imodium as a precaution in case I needed the toilet. All was fine. Today I’ve been doubled up
