Well here’s my update on Ranexa Ranolazine, I started the pill on 375mg for 2 weeks which helped but towards the end of that time the Angina started creeping back again. I did get an upset stomach a couple of days after I started it but it only lasted 24hrs so not sure if it was connected. I’ve been on the 500mg for a week now, when I woke up the next morning after taking the first 500mg doseI had a very sore tongue which was like a blood blister at the end of the tongue with an ulcer which got better daily, (Again not sure if connected). Today I was feeling so much better which instigated a bit of a splurge on bed making and washing, when will I learn. Needless to say I overdone it and have had to use the gtn spray twice, I am now resting to get over the chest pain. If I get up and start again the discomfort starts again, so note to self stop pushing yourself too much when you feel a little better. I think we all have a similar story of overdoing thing when you feel good. But my view on Ranolazine is that with me being sensible it is possibly working for me👍

Thank you milk fairy, hopefully things will get better with Ranolazine.

Hi Mirador19,

Glad to hear the Ranexa seems to be working for you. I only ever felt it “took the edge off” for me...I ended up on quite a high dose and eventually had to stop taking it.

I find like you that if I’m feeling good I can easily overdo things and then be in pain for a few days, I think we just need to be aware of what we are doing and take regular rests. It is difficult to manage, especially with the cold weather on the way. I find microwaveable heat bags work wonders...

Hi Mint tea, Im hoping this helps with the Angina and the blockage I have doesn't get worse, I'm happy to try anything suggested by my cardio nurse/Dr. Thank you for your reply.

It's difficult to be sensible when you feel well! My worst angina attacks have been when I've pushed myself and done too much.

Thank you for your reply isobelhannah18, the discomfort has lingered today so I think I will be more careful in future.
