Thanks...but I'm still sinking...
Many thanks to everyone who gave me advice when I posed the question "What is the truth about medications?" However, I'm caught in the pd trap along with all other sufferers...as I twitch and jerk about I read that I should try to reduce my Stalevo and/or RequipXL but without these I cant move...I used

Request to see an EP
Having met some resistance from my GP re my request for repeat visit to Cardiology "ablation not without risk you know" I went back after taking myself off Adizem (bad reaction) to have another go at him. I was surprised that a much younger GP was taking his surgery; he seemed to be much more clued up

I've been on Bisoprolol for over two years. Started at 2.5mg but the dose was fairly promptly raised to 5mg/day. It seems to be keeping my heart rate down but I think of it as my "devil drug" since I get very very tired several times almost every day. Saw an EP for the first time last week and he suggested

Does anyone have atrial fibrillation?
I was diagnosed with paroxysmal atrial fibrillation (AF) last August, at a time when I was on the waiting list for thyroid surgery. Since then I had several episodes of AF (lasting for six to twelve hours on average). Been taking flecainide for a while and recently also Dilzem. Waiting for catheter ablation

Are rate control drugs necessary when heart rate is within a "normal range" although AF is 24/7?
For the first time in something like 6 years I have begun to experience some breathlessness and fatigue, previously I have been asymptomatic. GP took me off Bisoprolol and put me on Adizem-XL instead (I also have Warfarin and Losarten). I had to stop the Bisoprolol for a few days before starting the

Swollen Feet and Ankles
I am on
Dilzem
XL
capsules and they certainly have improved my breathing but I really have very swollen feet and ankles. The leaflet inside the box says one in ten people suffer with swollen feet whilst taking this drug.

Three weeks without pacing the floor every night for hours!!!
I started taking Requip XL 4mg three weeks ago because my standard one was not available (out of UK at the time). Apparently the slow release is not used here for RLS but I managed to get it from my GP as I told her my symptoms were so much better. It's been three weeks now and I've had hardly any symptoms

Cold and blue hands on relatively warm days. Could this be thyroid related?
Even on relatively warm days my hands can be cold and blue. I'm taking thyroxine (100mg). I consulted my doctor who has prescribed a low dosage of Folpik xl 2.5mg to help symptoms but I wonder if its thyroid related. Anyone else had similar problems?

Has anyone experienced withdrawal symptoms while tapering off of Roprinerol (Requip)?
A previous neurologist had prescribed 24 mg of Requip XL daily. I also take 600 mg of Stalevo and 10 tablets of Carbidopa / Levodopa 25/100 each day. The next neurologist decreased the dosage from 24 mg to 12 mg. My new neurologist, who is a movement disorder specialist, has had me taper off from 12

Does anyone take Trihexyphenidyl?
I had an appointment with my Consultant yesterday as my usual cocktail of Stalevo, Requip XL and Sinemet CR are not controlling my tremor. After discussing various options I was asked to try one of the above tablets twice a day. As I have never heard of this drug I wondered whether anyone had had

I am curious as to what kind of problems any one has had taking Sinemet?
I started taking it in August and am now having a few issues. I also taking. Requip XL 12mg a day. I am not sure if it could be my thyroid -- I'm at that lovely age where some days my body is not my own. HORMONES! Would kindly accept responses from the women . Please no snide Man remarks --I'm just not
