Bisoporol and Adizem - Heart Rate and Palpitations
My AF journey started apparently in or around 2010 at which time I was woken with chest an jaw pain with a pulse rate of around 140BPM and blood pressure that could not really be measured, the episode lasted around 2-3 hours. At this point in time I had been on Bisoporol for around 3-4 years for nothing

Calcium Blockers, Nope don't seem to be working either!
I finally got to see the Cardiologist 3 weeks ago, after waiting 4 months for my first appointment, he agreed that Bisoporol was not agreeing with me so changed my medication to Adizem prolonged release, 180mg once a day. To be truthful I feel no better and having extreme fluctuations to my pulse rate

I was diagnosed 5 years ago. I was initially put on a low dosage of Sinemet 25/100 with 6 monthly visits to my Nuero Dr. As my condition worsened very quickly (or so it seemed to me) After trying the patches (Had a skin reaction) I was soon on the maximum dosage of Ropinerole (Requip XL) 3x 8mg per day

Nytol or equivalent (diphenhydramine hydrochloride) and AF
Does anyone have experience of using this over the counter sleeping aid and its potential effect, if any, on AF. I have no difficulty going to sleep, usually around 11 pm, but getting back to sleep after waking around 2 - 4am is not often possible. This happens most nights and means I get about 4-5 hours

Stress and AF
Recently I have had a lot of stress with a local company wanting to build a digester right near my house and this is on going. I think it is this that has caused my relatively stable af (supported by dilzem, beta blockers and flecanide plus three ablations) to break down and all weekend I have struggled

Rituximab infusion went smoothly but tired! What's new !
So I went in at 9 am to the day unit , got a comfy chair and they checked my urine , took my monitoring bloods then started a steroid infusion. Then got paracetamol and Piriton also to reduce risks of reactions. I was also told in my case to take all my others tablets so; leflonamide, methotrexate,

Also take Requip XL - 6mg with the 0700 dose and 4mg with the 1900 dose. I'm pretty active, walk 30 mins on treadmill ok. But I get constant dyskinesia - writhing of the head

Update post ablation
Thought I would share latest development after my first ablation which took place last November. I did not have any bouts of AF since and felt much better all these past months. Generic Drugs
There was some discussion recently about different batches of drugs causing different side effects so I thought I would talk to my mate at the pharmacy when I collected my December party bag (Have you got yours organised?) . It seems that in MOST cases the manufacturer (generic or specific) makes no

Moan about ignorant medics
I am just going to tell you my medication saga but before I do I apologise to all the peeps who have much more to put up with. I just need to tell somebody who will understand my frustration! Earlier in the year I was prescribed 240mgs of diltiazem. The pharmacist provided Adizem. I hated it, felt awful

Hospital visit today
I've just returned from my visit to the Cardiology Department at my local hospital. At no time did I see a Cardiologist. A very lovely Nurse Practitioner took all my details and read my ECG print out and then trotted off to see the Consultant. She returned and offered me a cardioversion, but I would

Has anyone had their meds changed to a generic med?
After a few years on Requip XL which suited me very well, I received a letter from my GP informing me that I was being changed to Repinex XL. I tried this and almost immediately my tremor returned and I felt generally unwell. My Parkinsons Nurse told me to ask my GP to put me back on my original medication

Slow release diltiazem, Adizem versus Slozem etc
After seeing several posts referring to side effects from slow release diltiazem meds I thought it might be helpful to share this with you. I was prescribed 240mg of SL Diltiazem and was given Adizem for several cycles. I was not happy ( understatement! ) with the side effects and asked my GP to lower

The need for knowledge
Hello to all. Firstly let me say how delighted I was to find this site and to find other sufferers of AF. I thought I was the only one!!! So to read your posts has been a real tonic. I had my first bout of AF about 7 years ago. I have had high blood pressure since my 20's and was told that AF
